nbaff 01-22-2007, 11:17 PM how does it connect to the existing radio?
willjones4 01-22-2007, 11:48 PM It has a wireless transmitter that sends the signal to your radio. Radio needs to be on 88.1. Alternately, you could use one of those cassette adapters or the AUX jack on your radio if it has one.
Nice avatar btw.

Actually, you can set it to transmit on any FM channel. 88.1 is just the default. I've got one of these myself and absolutely love it. Of the four Sirius receivers I've owned this one has been hands down the best. Good luck selling it.:thumbup
nbaff 01-23-2007, 12:11 AM do you still get CD quality sound through the 88.1?
qcbronc 01-23-2007, 12:15 AM its beter though aux if ya got it. You have to pay a monthly bill right?

I always thought it sounded good...its 12.95 month...check out sirius.com...
Buy my crap, I got football bets to pay off! damn Saints :brownbag
redwagon 01-23-2007, 12:40 AM just to help out...siruis kicks ass...you get to pick what type of music to listen to, no comercials and they have multiple channels of the different types of music...Didnt know what I listened to before I got it.

It completely depends on the radio stations in your area. In some places the 88.1 may be empty, in others it may have a station on it. It's no big deal if there is an existing station there. You just find a nice empty place on the dial and go into the receivers setup menu to change the fm modulators frequency to match. It really is simple.
nbaff 01-23-2007, 10:38 AM i mean i already have sirius so you don't have to convince me of that, i just don't have it in my truck. it is an xl with no cd player so i'd rather spend my money on this than screw around with a cd player.
nbaff 01-23-2007, 01:04 PM does it come with a mount?
I'll give you another bump and some promotion for it. I've got the same radio and love it. Great looking reciever and it sounds great even going through the radio station.
blackbronco92 01-23-2007, 03:22 PM One more bump for ya buddy... If I wasn't still tryin to pull my budget out of the holiday slump, I'd pick that up... I had a sirius receiver in my old Suburban 2 years ago... I loved it. The ONLY complaint I had was that I wasn't a big fan of the FM transmitter. Next time I would definently buy a hard-wire hookup... which would involve a newer deck with an aux connection. BUT if the antenna is properly placed, and all is well... Satellite radio is WELL worth the 12.95/month.

Actually, it doesn't need an aux connection at all. If you're having trouble finding a clear station you can pick up a cable that will hardwire the RF out of the Sirius into you radio's antenna jack. When you switch on the Sirius receiver it will automatically disconnect the outside antenna, thus eleminating the interference issues.
