Guess I'll start my 1 ton upgrade in the back first after all.

Since I just won a 14 bolt rear on ebay, I'm wondering how the axle tubes will fare since I'm sure there will be some welding taking place. Can anyone chime in here?

The tubes are thick as hell. You'd have to get them damn hot before you'd have to worry about them distorting.

On the odd chance you actually did warp it, (bad welding??) then just run a fat bead down the opposite side to straighten it back out.

take the weight off the axle if you are going to do a lot of welding on it to prevent any sag.

Prior to finding this site, I didn't know that D60 rears weren't all that. Gotta love this place, tons of knowledge here. I may bombard you guys with questions (after searching first of course :thumbup) once the swap begins, never done any of this before but I ain't skeered :D

152.50, 4.11, open. That'll all change in due time, rear disc, locker and 4.88s or 5.13s :D
