I'm planning on doing a whole lot of local stuff when I'm done. I really want to hit Eldorado Canyon, follow it through the old Como (Southeast of Dayton) mining town and take it all the way to Wellington (Near Topaz Lake). I'll be doing alot of desert stuff. I'll post here ahead of time and if anyone wants to link up then great. Most the stuff I'll be tackling probably won't require anything over 32s or 33s. I'll post if otherwise. It's not really a club but I guess it can be a start. :) If it gets big enough maybe we can get our own Sierra Chapter going on the board. I'll have to enquire then if there's enough interest. I love this stuff if it's just me or if there's a whole group. I don't condone wheeling alone but I'm guilty of it anyway. :beer

I am always looking for an excuse to go wheeling.

As far as your transfer case. Performance transmission does good work on boulder highway. Dans drive line is closer to your side of town I have heard good things about them also. They will be building my 8.8 in my mustang in a few weeks.

I'm at Tropicana and 95. South east side.

There are tons of places to go just depends what you want to do. That's the nice thing about this town is there is so much to do. Sand dunes, rocks, scenic trails, mud (when it rains). Let me know when you get your truck running.

Potatoe pass is up by red rock you access it off of the loop and it ends up on the other side of the mountains in lovell canyon.

There are a group of people going out tommorew to run wallace and clark canyon then there gonna head up to lovell canyon and do potatoe. Potatoes about a 3.5 it's pretty tricky in some spots. I'm thinking about going but I'm bumperless right now. I pulled my rear bumper so it would force me to start building my custom and now I don't have any rear towpoints. :banghead

I might just go for the morning and do wallace and clark though there alot easier.

You can get more info about upcoming runs by going on:

http://www.nevadabackroaders.com/v-web/bulletin/bb/index.php

http://www.vv4w.org/bulletin.asp

These are two local clubs open to all types of vehicles.

Anyone know of trails or 4x4 areas in the fernley area? I spend most of my time at moonrocks just because my rig is currently at my father in laws on Whiskey Springs. Just wondering if anyone wants to get together and go wheeling once I finish my straight axle swap. I have checked out the reno4x4 site and its pretty cool but not many fullsizes, mostly jeeps, xjs, rockbuggies. Friendly people though and good insite on local areas mostly around reno.

I'm in Vegas. Hello to all. Nice Bronco's. I'm looking to buy a 78-79 in the area. Finished my 86 and sold it, ready to start again. Anyone know of anyone with a solid body, interior and suspension, let me know please. Engine and tranny no big deal.

Lots of different rigs to see and I know there will be a few buggies to watch play! Plus you can watch me snap another axle..... I sure do hope those rockwells show up soon, I am becoming an expert at tearing down that dana 44 and 8.8 combo. Come out and enjoy. Should be good times for sure!!!:thumbup

My truck was pretty once too. Then a liitle scratch here and there from the various dares and then one day I realized dang what happened......there are a lot of areas around reno and silver springs to wheel without havin to worry about too much carnage. You got a nice looking rig so I wouldnt want to jack it up either.

I was born and raised in Vegas. I was 4-wheelin' on 3-wheelers as soon as I could walk. Nellis Dunes are cool but getting over-crouded. I prefer the sheep mountain range. It is easier trailing but my daily driver Bronco is stock. Tranny coolers are a must in the summer. I am getting mine rebuilt this weekend.

Hi,
New to site and would like to join the Nevada chapter of Full Size Bronocs.

I am in Vegas and go out every now and again. I own my second 96 fullsize bronco. The last one got toatled on 215 heading west. A roll over and after having walked away I went and got a new one.

I do trail rides and go ghost town hunting. Not rock crawling. Sorry not my thing. I also drive 05 TJ.

I normaly go out with the hummer club here in vegas or with a bunch of vehicles for all makes and models.

welcome to NV! we don't have tornadoes, hurricanes, hanging chads...or any of that junky east coast crap.

as you've probably noticed, humidity (or lack thereof) is a rare commodity in the summertime. be sure to drink plenty of water as you can be sweating and not know it because it's dry...

hope the move went/goes well.

My work schedule has finally slowed down a bit so pretty much whenever is good for me. My buddy just bought a 93 EB/351. The dealer was asking $6,000. We got it out the door for $2,500!:chili: I'm getting him set up on FSB.com and he will probably come with me.

that might be pretty cool, but where locally is there a place for dove hunting? I don't know if they'll be much good this year since there's a parasite going around.

too bad that pigeons aren't on the hunting list:enforce

i've to do some plinking with my 410 before I go hunting...never fired it, so don't know how powerful it is?!?

screw it, how about a meet-n-greet at the pyramid shooting range one weekend...nothing like meeting fellow u150/f150 owners and discharging powder.

I know of a few good dove spots. One outside Verdi, one out past Spanish springs and I'm currently scouting a few spots in Carson. The shooting range would be cool. I need to get my deer rifle sighted in anywho.
