I think the headlights and front bumper on the new SD are pretty weak.

Someone had one out here recently with a custom winch bumper, and it was a nice improvement.

But the core truck is still sound as ever.

hmmm....i actually like that super duty. Most of the new ones i hated. I guess its growing on me some. The headlights are still a little funky lookin to me. Are the work truck headlights like that too?

Nope, they have the sealed beams on them; one of my customers pulled up with one a week or so ago. I'll get a picture of it next time if I can. Personally I think they look better, although they're still ugly as sin.

I'm looking for a 7.3 F-550 for a work truck and tow rig for my two-fiddy.

I'm kinda coming to term with the fact that I'm not gonna find one that hasn't had the dogshit ran out of it, so I might just find a 4x4 day cab 10' frame 6 speed and go through it, get it painted to match and do the 05+ front end conversion. :rockon

then I'm gonna build me an aluminum flatbed w/ some underbed boxes and use it as a welding truck, but still be able to tug the blue truck to the pulls on the weekends

IMO the 08's are U-G-L-Y! Pretty sad that that is the best they could do, and that they only changed the front end. They should have revampt the hole truck!

Really? Considerin' from '80-'96 it was basicly the same thing with only two grill and interior updates.

For only half that time this would be the second grill update and first interior updates.

they look better w/ aftermarket bumpers on them, it takes away alot of the "squareness" from the front end


from what i've heard, they've been having alot of problems w/ the exhaust...something of the nature that causes it to shoot flames

Now what would really look killer is an F-450 superduty bronco!!!! If the excursion was continued and had a 2-door option that would be sweeeeeeeet.

I've actually heard that from several people about the 99. A buddy of mine at work had one with the full Banks setup...he could pass people going uphill pulling a trailer loaded with his sandrail, 2 quads, a 55 gallon drum full of fuel, and a buttload of misc tools. He sold it and ended up getting a 2003 king ranch, and he totally regretted getting rid of the 99.

I might be a bit of a wanker, but those F650's give me a boner. They're so big that you can't really do anything with them, but pulling a camp trailer and going on long vacations would be awesome. I looked at the F650 6-door XUV on that website listed somewhere above... $180,000 of awesomeness.

I wouldn't get rid of my bronco or xterra for one of those, but if I had it in addition to them, I'd take it.
