I will have much better pictures tomorrow. It was dark out before I left the shop.

This is after a 6" suspension lift, 16x10 polished aluminium wheels and 35x14.5x16 Pitbull Rockers - Extreme terrain tires :chili:

Ditch the auto hubs and things are looking really good. Mind if I ask what you paid for those tires? They are badass.

It's Italian. Nope, Royal High in Simi Valley.

Manual hubs are on the long list. I paid 238 per tire x 5.

Cool. Tullio is actually my last name. But everybody calls me by my last name. Brian is just too common. Plus, I like the way Tullio sounds ;)

actually seems reasonable, I thought they cost more than that! I also read on one site that the compound pitbull uses makes them last longer than the competition, anyone have an idea of what kind of life you get out of em? Seeing as their Bias ply

I have no clue how much life to expect. This is just a weekend toy so it is not going to see the miles a DD does.

Well, I don't know what bias ply actually means :brownbag

but they handle fine on road. I have driven them maybe 50 miles so far and low speeds and freeway speeds and they feel fine.

So far I am LOVING these wheels and tires.

We took it off-roading yesterday and it was great. We knew we would love these wheels and tires before hand and we were right.

Just awesome.

What made you go with 16inch tires. I am thinking of doing the same thing only because it will be easier(Cheaper) when I change over to 1 ton axles.
Oh and I'm jealous I won't be able to do my lift till next year:rockon

I think you mean 16" wheels. The reason? The wheels are discontinued and shops are unloading what was left over. They just happened to have a set of 16x10 left over. I needed at least a 10" wide wheel to mount the 14.5" wide tires so it just worked out fine. ;)

Those sure are good looking wheels.

Pit Bull says they expect 30-35K miles out of those tires on the street, but they have not had enough of them out long enough to know for sure how long they will last.

Radials are coming out - I hope this year. The Rocker is a damn good looking tire, and tough as nails.

As the bias ply side walls get broken in you will need to add more air presure for highway use. They get softer. I have read post where people complain about how still they are when they are new.

Everything looks damn good...congratz!:drinkbud

why would they need Radials if the expect 30k? I mean Radial Claws get something like that

I know it wont be as soft, but I wonder if it would be close..

Radial will perform better on the black top...ride smoother at high speed and should last longer. Pitt Bull has been pretty clear in that they do not know how long they will last because vehicle weight/driving conditions/driving style all play a role & they just have not had enough tires on the road long enough to really know. They have said they expect everyone to be pleasantly surprised at how long they last compared to other equally aggressive tires.

There is a good thread on pirate started by some guy (may be the top dog...excuse the pun) and he answers a lot of questions and seems to be pretty honest .... not over selling the product and asking other people who have bought their tires to post their opinions.

Bias ply is stronger and stands up better to off-road abuse. The sidewalls get softer as they wear which allows them to conform to the terrain better at lower psi. The down side is they tend to deform at high speeds which makes them loud and accelerates wear. Bias ply tires tend to be heavier and have thicker sidewalls (more durable), but the thicker sidewalls build more heat/develop hot spots at high speed which also accelerates wear.

Radials hold their shape better at high speed which makes the quieter and improves the ride and MPG. They tend to be lighter and have thinner sidewalls and do not get as hot on pavement. For most weekend off-roaders the radial is plenty strong and will provide better all around performance.

I'm sure there is a tire engineer around the board who will correct me if any of this is wrong, or go into greater detail, but that covers the high points.:thumbup
