i buy, sell & trade parts. thats how i support this habit. you can turn $200.00 into $1,200.00 pretty easy. i do it all the time. buy and sell axles. t-cases, trannies, assorted parts, complete 4x4's with no title or wrecked and part them out. its easy on the net.

look in the phone book under driveline and call one of those guys and have it lengthened and balanced. i didnt think a 4" lift required that. shouldnt need much. maybe 1 to 2 " longer cost around $125.00

it will also have a stretched wheel base.
as of right now its bone stock and doesnt even run.
just give me another month and you will see major changes .
im retiring my 79 to regular trail duty.:cry im trashing the body everytime it hits the trails and i dont want to total the body. so right now im swapping out a complete front clip from a donar 79 parts bronco that i have to replace all the broken, dented front end and im lowering it down on 36" tires and 1/2 ton axles. i will be building another trail strictly wheeling machine. much smaller and lighter. :chili: :chili: :chili: :chili: :chili: :chili: :chili: :chili:
302 roller engine on propane , one ton axles, cage front suspension, 4 link rear, stretched wheelbase , 15,000lb warn winch, 38 or 39" tires , full cage , rock sliders, double beadlock wheels , no roof, no doors .:toothless

to do list if i get it back in time:
1: mount pwr brake booster and run pre bent brake lines and bleed brakes.
2: wire up brake and tail lights.
3: either get the old 302 running or swap in the newer one that i have.
4 :hook up the propane.
5: service the c4.
6: mount my trans cooler.
7:mount tires on beadlocks and mount on bronco.
8: install my headers and run my exhaust.
9: swap out the gear box and mount the ram and bleed the system.
10: spool in my new synthetic winch cable.
11: install front axle seals. mine are shot.
12:mount my duel batteries.
13:install my harnesses.
14:change oil in rear axle.
15: get my drive shafts lengthened.
16 : mount my toolbox in the back.
17: etc. small stuff.
when i get it back , ill only have around 2 to 2&1/2 weeks to get it ready. this is not lookin good for me to wheel at rits.

Mostly for the herculined interior. Although the HO F.I. 302 is nice. Fully caged, some sliders, and won tons with your suspension seats and you're in it.

What synthetic rope did you get for the winch?

broncomania
06-22-2007, 10:42 PM
amsteel rope. nice pics. and its a lot more to it than just putting in the seats and axles and a full cage. and i cut it up because the rear was 99% rusted out. the biggest problem has been fitting the 79 steering box and moving the hp60 forward . and getting it all lined up. and fabbing up some new mounts and coil buckets . also the rear is fully tubed with a stretched wheelbase . no leaf springs . its 4 linked with air shocks .tube sliders, fabbed up tube winch bumper and rear bumper. full cage all tied in to the frame and sliders. and the seats are mounted to the cage . no stock seat mounts. and exo cage coming from the front bumper down along the fenders back to the main hoop.
