What are the rules for class III? yikes 05-12-2007, 12:52 AM I don't know all of the intimate details as yet, but here is what I do know. Short wheelbase SUV. Must be no more than 108" wheelbase and no more than 2" over the factory wheelbase. The track width can be widened 4" overall from factory (measured at the centerline of the tires). Must retain the factory suspension design. If it came with leaf springs, then that's what you've got to run. The engine has to match the vehicle manufacturer and retain the same number of cylinders. In other words for us, it's got to be Ford and it has to have 6 or 8 cylinders. Other than that, it's wide open, which means you could run a 750cui TT motor if you've got the $$. Shocks are open. You can run the latest and greatest if you've got the $$. We'll get some official rules posted eventually, but this is a start scvBronc 05-14-2007, 03:17 PM The engine has to match the vehicle manufacturer and retain the same number of cylinders. Can a 302 be swap with a 460 or vice versa? Or a person is stuck with what ever came with the FSB? Regards, scvBronc yikes 05-14-2007, 03:48 PM Can a 302 be swap with a 460 or vice versa? Or a person is stuck with what ever came with the FSB? Regards, scvBronc I believe if it came with a V8, then you've got to run a V8. Size is your choice. Keep in mind, a monster engine won't do much good in Class 3, because of the suspension travel limitations. BlancoBronco 05-14-2007, 09:29 PM I've started posting them on www.Class3Racing.com But I must also tell you I'm doing it all the old fashion pain in the Butt way...
