As much as I like NASCAR, desert racing makes that stuff look weak. Ogeechee 4x4 05-17-2007, 01:27 AM up north you have the Tuff Truck competitions... that's about as close as you'll come on the east coast. Polar Cub 05-17-2007, 10:12 AM I cant remember the organization name but several years ago at least there was some short course style racing over trails, I know the midwest does some short course type stuff. Check into the clubs and hey if nothing is there I am sure you could start something along the lines of desert racing, I have always thought you could run a hare and hound type race out there. You have some challenging terrain that could be alot of fun. I am not too much into mud bogs either. Good luck and just remeber their are lots of videos etc to help calm you when the itch gets too bad. Check out dust to glory if you have not already. chasespeed 05-17-2007, 10:45 AM Yeah there was a race in PA a couple years ago, they called it a Rally, but, it was all SUVs and trucks, from damn near stock, to wild..... FWIW, I am from Mass.... and, like mentioned, I remember something about Touch Truck,... but... been in the navy 8 years now, so I am not sure... Chase bronconite 05-21-2007, 09:44 AM Check this out. I don't think I've seen any fullsize rigs on the website but who knows. My Dad just bought his retirement farm right down the road from this place. We're going to check out the race in June. www.lm4w.org |
