Back in the day when we were oblivious to the effects of drinking and driving ( I do not condone this act and have since changed my ways I am fortunate that I never killed anyone, got into an accident or got a DUI, not to say that I didn't come close on more than one occasion)now back to the story. We had been to Mainstreet in Murfressboro which is a two story club that has live music. After a few buckets of Rocks we headed out to a friends house in the Smyrna. It was about 3am and foggy. As we were going through the Stones River Battle Field a State park that was a hotbed for action during the Civil War we saw something off to the side in the fog. As we slowed down, we saw three horses with what appeared to be Confederate Officers crossing the street. Nobody said anything, then Doug asked, "did ya'll see that?" we all confirmed the siting and didn't say anything else the whole way to Dougs house. Needless to say we were freaked out. It turns out they were having a Civil War recreation that weekend and what we saw was not actually ghosts, but people dressed up as soldiers. What they were doing in the fog on horses at three am I don't know, but the pucker factor was definately there!
Anybody else ever have an experience like this? Where you thought you were seeing the unexplained only to be explained later?
