Just out of curiousity, I had a prerunner ranger back in the day, and pulled the bedsides to make a bit more room for bigger tires. It was a cheap way to match the rear bedsides of a ranger to flared front fenders. My question is, can this be done on a Bronco too or is the only way to flare the rear is fiberglass bedsides? I think a bronco would look great with 4"flared fenders and 1" or 2" pulled bedsides.

I imagine you can pull them. you would need to cut that upper inner fender support to allow it to spread though. This is based on my checking into it as I planned going this route. just havent gotten around to making it happen yet

Here is a a site that describes the process in detail. Jon at Autofab has more experience than almost anybody out there when it comes to desert Broncos. He did the first TTB cut and turn from a shop, maybe the first of all. He will steer you in the right direction.

Ah, I am almost positive that isnt what he meant...

If you pull the inner fender.. there are a few... support struts...

Alot of people cut those, and PULL the fender.... thus, creating a blister, bubble, or flared look... weld in a peice to keep the shape of the fender, and viola....

yeah, chase got it right, though EB your link was awesome as it gave me a great look at whats behind my fender without... well taking off my fender. It looks do-able, I'll have to get under there to really see if I can pull it off. Has anyone already done it or know of a pic of a bronco that has done it?

Solo motorsports in azusa has done it. I was thinking of having it done, but decided to save a little more money and get fiberglass bedsides.

The Baldwins bronco is linked with the stock bedsides pulled out, looks real clean. Not sure if it's still like this anymore haven't seen it for sometime now. What they did is remove the inner steel wheel-well that the skin is attached to, and then flared/pulled the sides out.

Pictures?

Interested in doing this with my B2. I have an idea but it requires some welding, because of the added piece to the wheel tub. I guess I have to experiment with the parts truck then.

You have my interest on this "pulling", do any of you have a write up or some pointers? I figure when I get to that point I can give it a try and if it don't work, fiberglass bedsides.

I know this thread is over a month old but when looking into this for my old ranger I found a write up on therangerstation.com I'm sure it can be adapted to the bronco. Use the link below.

I've seen in person a Bronco at Complete Fabrications in El Cajon that had the bedsides pulled out about an 1 1/4 and it looked really clean. Call Glen at Complete and he can give you more details.

Thanks. Dont bug Glen He has a lot to do before the B1K. He pulled out the bedside until it started to wrinkle, then quit. Looked to me like he just drilled out the spot welds and then used the sandbag and Hydraulics to move the metal.
It is all apart now for the 18" stretch & 4-link.

Ok, bringing this back up, because I am interested in doing this, as opposed to fiberglass rear....
