blueoval78 02-27-2003, 10:59 AM sweet. some day
Big Mike C. 02-27-2003, 11:21 AM How much CFM can you get from a york? How long to air up a 35 inch tire? Can it be adapted to fit the smog pump brackets? :?:
Dustin 02-27-2003, 02:53 PM I can air up a 35 from completely flat to 30psi in roughly 1-2minutes if that. I can run air tools with it also. I am using broncoairs kit now and I love it, nothing beats a york!
BoulderBronco 02-27-2003, 03:50 PM I never thought about adapting it to a smog pump. Not sure if it would work. Like Dustin said it takes around 1min 45 sec to go from 0 to 30 psi on a 35. I imagine if you get one of the 206 or 209 pumps that it will be a few seconds more but it is quick.
Dustin 02-27-2003, 10:29 PM oh and thats at idle with a 3gal air tank....
Miketnf150 02-28-2003, 09:56 AM I noticed you guys are talking about onboardair. Is there other ways of getting on board air without buying the york pumps, etc etc. Some of us don't have the $$$ to fork out for a york or the other high dollar systems. The cheapest way I can figure is get an portable tank and fill it before I go wheeling, but I don't think it would hold enough air to pump all the tires back up full..
Any suggestions?
Crazed 02-28-2003, 02:19 PM I converted my factory A/C for like $150 pics on my superford page.
MOUNTAINMAN 02-28-2003, 02:29 PM You can go to a wrecking yard to pick up a york and some brackets. Then just get the rest of the parts needed as you can afford them.
Miketnf150 02-28-2003, 03:09 PM Good deal. I kind of thought you could convert your old A/C over. But now you don't have A/C right?
MOUNTAINMAN 02-28-2003, 03:12 PM Right. Unless you add a 2nd compressor for the OBA only and leave your a/c alone.
Miketnf150 02-28-2003, 03:17 PM I gotcha.....So I could mount it just like all the other do with the york!!!!
Crazed 02-28-2003, 04:07 PM I dont need A/C, my top comes off.
Miketnf150 02-28-2003, 04:11 PM Oh hey I agree with ya there. This summer mine is going to be off as much as possible...BUT!!! This is my daily driver and I don't want to change the A/C over just for onboard air...
Dustin 03-01-2003, 01:04 PM a york is cheap...like 30bucks for a junkyard
BoulderBronco 03-01-2003, 01:50 PM Unless someone has come up with a new trick that I have not heard about, you can not use the stock Sanden compressors for OBA. They use the freon to lubricate and therefore pump it along with the air. Crazed, you said you used your stock AC. How did you do that?
Broncobob 03-01-2003, 05:07 PM I will take one, let me know how many people buy.
davcd3@msn.com is also my e-mail, will check that daily along with pm's on this site.

Crazed 03-01-2003, 11:20 PM I put pics on my superford page of the install, I just need to add a little oil in the inlet every once in a while. i do still need to install an air tank, but i can fill a 35" tire from 15 psi to 35 in 3 min. It will drop to 1 min when i get the tank is my guess.
BoulderBronco 03-02-2003, 01:57 AM Update. We have one order for an OBA kit so far. I will let you all know when more come in.
BoulderBronco 03-12-2003, 01:59 AM Someone seems to have changed the title to this post. I had trouble finding it.
