Well, for those of you not in the Member's Forum, one of our Canadian Brethren from the Great White North will be traveling to Atlanta.. I think he mentioned it without really knowing what he's getting himself in to. :toothless

So of course a Bonafide M&G is in order. Details are as follows....

WHEN:[B]June 23rd, Saturday. Show up about 6pm or therabouts, leave when we get ready to go. [So even if you're gonna run late, chances are you'll catch us still there.]

WHERE: Delkwood Grill, Marietta, GA. I75 North to Delk Rd - Exit 261. Take a right - East on Delk Rd - the Delkwood Grill is out there about 1/2 mile on the left. The number is 770-956-1313 if you want better directions. [Or PM me for my cell if you want.]

WHY: Southern Hospitality. 'Nuff Said.

Hope to see ya there.

We're not wheeling. This is just a Meet and Greet.

We're just getting together to hang out, eat a burger, look at some trucks and drink some beer.

Sorry for the confusion. We get together so much, I forget that some people don't know what these get togethers are all about.

Daddy-O, I just went through Dacula yesterday. Spent the day in Winder at Akins Ford Chrysler doing inventory in the parts department.

The name is the part in blue Delk Wood Grill and it is off of Delk rd. It is a little bar and grill we hang out at. They let us use their room in back.

Hwy 280 ?

278,

highway 170 is bad too and i live off of 170. people use to have "pray for me i drive hwy170" stickers. there were wrecks every day or two during construction. (2 lanes - to - 4)

and ive got a wedding to attend in pittsburgh on the 14th of july, so ill definately be at this M&G with the bko, it should be a nice little test to make sure it'll survive the mountains of NC on hwy77

Good news, I was wrong (not that it's much of a suprise), I will be in town that weekend. Would love to attend. Think I might leave the bronco at home for this one, we'll have to see where gas prices are and what the weathers like, no A/C.:rockon

does anybody know if there is smoking at this bar and grill?I would love to come out but the wife already has plans to go out that night so if i come i will be bringing my daughter and shes 1 and doesnt like smoke but she doesnt mind BEEEEEEEER!

Mels
06-05-2007, 07:38 PM
In the meeting room there is no smoking, and the bar is on the other side of the restaurant. We have smokers, but they go outside.

Come join us. Where are you at in Cartersville? I wouldn't mind moving up that way one day. I go up there a lot to the Booth Museum.

c400bronco
06-05-2007, 07:53 PM
im actually just outside acworth right on the lake, i have to drive through emerson to get to cartersville,I think the lake has something to do with the way the adresses go. I like it here though theres plenty of stuff to do without all the crap and traffic of big cities.

Mels
06-05-2007, 08:14 PM
Yeah, exactly. I've lived in Marietta all my life and I've watched it grow and hated every minute of it. I guess the convenience is nice, having things close, but at the same time I HATE the traffic!

Hey, since you're right on the lake, you should volunteer to host our Fall Cookout, Haha. Just kidding. ;)

DaddyO
06-05-2007, 10:17 PM
I thought about moving up that way also. The traffic over here by the mall of Georgia is a mother. :banghead

I'm down for the cook-out. No problem on chippen in for the food. Name the time and we're there!:beer I hope I'm not the only one at the m&g with my bronco. Oh well, atleast I won't be hard to recognize. LOL.:D

Mels
06-06-2007, 08:05 PM
We called off the cookout last year due to lack of interest. I did one the previous two years up at Cooper's Furnace below the Allatoona Dam. Really had a good time, but last year not as many people seemed excited about it so I didn't follow through. We're definitely due one this year though, I usually think about the middle to end of September/End of Summer type thing.

Daddy-O, I'll be at the M&G in my Bronco, probably the '78. The only time I haven't been in a Bronco was after the wreck last year when I couldn't drive. :toothless And I've never missed a M&G, guess that's because I'm the designated planner. Heh.

DaddyO
06-06-2007, 08:15 PM
Cool. Can't wait. I love this place. I'm excited about getting to meet some of the guys. It's too bad some people can't drive there rigs though.

Mels
06-06-2007, 08:25 PM
Oh there will be plenty of Broncos there, don't worry. :toothless

c400bronco
06-06-2007, 08:27 PM
i was actually gonna suggest coopers furnace just so everyone wouldnt have to stand up and eat because thier would be a seating issue at the crib but we could figure something out im sure.I'll see you guys at the m&g and if i go anywhere its in my bronco,I REFUSE TO DRIVE THE WIFES V-6 CAMARO! You wont miss me,Im all stock for now big plans empty pockets

DaddyO
06-06-2007, 08:27 PM
Do you guys ever plan any weekend trips like camping or anything? Just curious. There's lots to do up this way. I'd be glad to help plan something if you do.

Mels

i was actually gonna suggest coopers furnace just so everyone wouldnt have to stand up and eat because thier would be a seating issue....
No seating issues...we have tailgates. :toothless Cooper's Furnace is a great place for the cookout, I'll actually probably do it there again. Just because it's what I know and there's stuff for the kids to do.

Do you guys ever plan any weekend trips like camping or anything? Just curious. There's lots to do up this way. I'd be glad to help plan something if you do.
*I* don't plan anything like that because I ... well, because I never have, haha. :toothless

Dale [79F150] and Jon [Ogeechee] actually went up to Tellico here not too long ago to ride Four-Wheelers and just made a day of it. I'd love to go camping again, but other than around Allatoona I'm really not all that familiar with GA's Camping. That's why I don't plan things like that, I stick to things and places I know. Like Food and Sports Bars.

Here lately we've kinda taken the "meet and greet" thing for granted. There's a handful of us so close together [and we're usually the only ones that show up] we get together just to hang out and socialize. :shrug We get together so much, nobody ever really thinks about doing anything for the weekend unless somebody wants to go ride 4 wheelers or something. We're also a group of daily driven Broncos and not really any "hard core" crashing-through-the-woods every weekend types. At least I'm not. :shrug

We've got the big Tellico ride coming up at the end of July and that's about it for 'planned' Bronco wheeling.

If you new folks get a wild hair to drive up to the mountains, make a thread, give a shout to one of us, I'm sure some folks would join ya.

DaddyO
06-06-2007, 08:51 PM
I'm just stock on 32's so I don't do any hard core stuff either. There's plenty of camping and trails and cook-out places close to me like Lake Lanier or Hard Lbor Creek or Lake Oconee. If anybody is interested in a weekend thing I'd be glad to help set it up. I wish I would have joined this place a long time ago. I had no idea there were so many people in this area that love the bronco like I do. If I had it my way we would hang out every weekend.:thumbup That's just my opinion though

Mels
06-06-2007, 09:24 PM
I've been kinda slack on taking pics at these gatherings lately - back to that whole used to just hanging out, no need for pics kinda thing - but in the album for the '89 under "dixie meet and greets" there's pics from some of our previous get togethers. Dixie Chapter - Mike went out of his way to help out a fellow FSB member. He saved me about 4 hours of driving time, allowed me to store my parts for pick up at his house, then helped me load up the axles! Lets all try to remember to be as helpful to other FSB members as Mike was to me. Thanks again Mike for helping me out!

Mike - We are still at the M&G now. Wished ya'll could have made it though. Hopefully, you will be able to make it to one soon. I'm working on seeing you at RITS. I'll let you know.

Many Thanks for your help.

I had a greate time :thumbup

Sorry I had to leave early again :toothless

Look forward to the next one.

Yeah sorry I left early too but my bronco isn't totally road worthy and night time is when it's at it's worst.. it was an ok drive though... only 20 minutes for me!

nice seein everyone and talking to everyone! Good to see Manny too since he doesn't return phone calls... :goodfinge

It'd be cool if someone can write in the screen names of everyone in the picture so everyone can have an idea what online name goes with which person in the real world!

We had a meeting and discussed it. If in 2 months at our next M&G, you see pics and wonder where you were....I know nothing. :brownbag
