Well, i grew up watching the phantasm series. Had my share of nightmares over the tall man and those dwarves. Anywho, i just watched the second movie and realized all my life i never understood the plot and or moral of the story. Ive wathec clips from youtube lately trying to understand, yet ive come up with nothing.... I even got an unusual answer, " Phantasm has no plot. It was written in the 70's and there was a high cocaine use during that time. So the writer was probably f**ked up" .... for some reason i cant see a writer writing a movie and being F**ked up that long. SO, anyone have any answers or guesses to my question?

Well i also love the series. The Tall man was a pimp and i also had some good nightmares from it.

The plot was the tall man taking the dead bodies from the funeral home, shrink them down and turning them into slaves on the alien planet.

It was also written to answer the questions as to wheather a horror movier could be mixed with a sci/fi flick. and it was pulled off beautifully

so it WAS another planet. I thought another demension. I still wish they made a 5th movie. to explain EVERYTHING. like, why is he doing it. How come HE himself never dies.

Im not 100% sure whether it is another planet or dimension or both. But i do know that the Tall man is an alien and the "Jawas" are the slaves

ive always wondered how the dwarves died, and the tall man kept returning, even tho he had the same yellow stuff that the dwarves did.
