very cheap. did mine for $330, but again lots of time screweing around trying to get it to clear everything and work right.
works great, steers good, less bent draglinks and damamaged steering boxes.

i need money to wheel it since i will break atleast $300 worth of junk, and the zuk is almost finished, so money will be available soon! Its hard keeping major mods going on 2 rigs. money isnt the issue as much as time is! i spend propably about 20-30 hours each week wrenching and modding all my crap. it takes time to get all the shit to work right. The zuk got exhuast, a new carb, and low T case gears this week, the bornco got a half door setup complete, hydro assist steering, and a 1 ton master/booster upgrade, new calipers, and fixed my funky rear brakes. Alos did some fixing on the F250 and on the chevy pickup. i do have a trip palnned for the 13th to the badlands with the zuk, and 21st with the bronco(thats if they run, if ones broke i take the other) i am also still trying to find myself a gooseneck that i can afford. I just dont have enough time in a week t odo all the crap i need to and wheel them, then fix what i break. Wheeling also isnt cheap, i send atleast $50 in fuel for a day run.
acually david, the bronco hasnt really seen much of anything other than the inside of the garage walls. it has gotten maybe 250 road miles since december
david, you may not know this, but i enjoy wrenching and modifying my rigs acually more than i do wheeling them. you know as well as i do that this is goign to be my trade. You guys have no idea what the intentions are for the bronco and zuk. They both are going to be getting so many radical mods it will be insane. Im currently on the lookout for 2 dana 60 RR front axles,, 1 stabdard cut dana 60 and one dana 70 centersection. im also trying to find 2 sets of 38's
BadassBronco 04-07-2003, 08:16 AM Saginaw power steering pump required for on road use
the ford pump moves the ram to slow and is kinda scary.
TFTBronco 01-29-2004, 07:57 AM i have ported and taped my extra gear box. but will be using this rig on the street. you say i have to upgrad the pump so the steerign will steer like normal. whats a good pump and or do i have to get a gear box with a biger piston inside??
SMOOTH 01-29-2004, 08:45 AM Saginaw power steering pump required for on road use
As he said, Saginaw, but other then that, you won't get a response from him, he's not around anymore. I'm sure someone will pop on here to get you another way of contacting him.
TFTBronco 02-03-2004, 11:51 PM thank you
TFTBronco 02-20-2004, 07:17 AM where a good place to get a ram but not spend a lot of money????
flame god 02-25-2004, 10:14 PM Badass Did you buy that ram specifically for this job (like raf) or is it one you found would work??? I have found some cylinders that I think will work but -this being my main question- how do you know the ram will move at the same speed the steering arms do?????
axaviere 02-25-2004, 11:00 PM your ram will be powered by the same thing that powers the steering box, i so dont think you have to worry about getting them moving at the same speed. Zach was a farm kid so he was familiar with the stuff that they used on tractors and such. thats why he chose that ram. its bigger bore than most for this application, but if its cheaper then its a viable option.
madmark 02-26-2004, 09:47 PM How do you detremine the length of the ram you need?
axaviere 03-02-2004, 03:38 PM you would measure the travel of your tie rod. mark a point on it & compare it to a fixed point on the axle tube. i think you need 8 inches. as badass stated you get 8.2 with that particular ram & its a bigger bore than most offered too, i think its 2"x8.2" & its from a combine. its not in this article, but i remember when he first did it.

Sorry to dig up an old thread but want to be sure before I strat tearing things up. I have the saginaw steering pump and my box is tapped. My question is how do you handle the extra fluid requirements from the ram? Is there a modification that can be made to the Saginaw pump for extra fluid capacity?

:brownbag Found my answer in another thread. :brownbag
axaviere 01-01-2005, 11:56 AM what thread? some guys got a deal that extended the filler neck on the saginaw. how did you get a box that was already tapped? raf found a chevy van with a remote reservoir that he grafted into the system for extra capacity

My question was how to handle the extra fluid capacity. That was answered in a thread about 3 down from this one (Chevy resuvoir, filler neck extension). I have a question pending in that thread regarding where to get the extended filler neck and the shink tubing.
axaviere 01-02-2005, 11:30 AM so who tapped the box? raf told me where he got that deal, but that was a while back so i can recall. i think it was PSC or Howe one of the places that does hydro i thought
Bronkzilla 01-02-2005, 02:57 PM got these out of some chevy vans.

you can also see that little neck extension by the cap.. thats by AGR.. It came with the ram i bought on pirate.. I looked at their site a while back when i talked to AXE and you can buy it seperate... www.AGRSteering.com i think... it never really stayed on so i took it off.. kinda falls off if you lean on it..

i used a barbed to 1/4" npt fitting to connect the hose to the original resevoir cap.. The cap has these 2 little slits that let air out which were causing fluid to drip out.. I got some plastic/metal epoxy and went crazy with it.. Not the best solution but it works. :histerica
