View Full Version : New rear bumper/trimmed fenders.
Brokenbronco 06-19-2007, 09:20 PM Got my rear bumper mounted, also did some fender trimming. I'll be adding a swing away tire mount in the future.

Beast01 06-19-2007, 09:51 PM Like the angle u put on the rear fenders. Your rig is looking sweet:rockon
yikesbb 06-19-2007, 09:51 PM Wow! That was fast. You must live across the street from Solo. That's a major improvement. Hmmmm, similar to a picture I just saw the other day????? :thumbup You gonna coat it blue?
I really want to see your rig with rear quarters now.
Brokenbronco 06-19-2007, 10:30 PM Thanks guys.
Actually yikes, i'm ditching the blue idea, everything except the coil buckets are going to black.
bigbroncojeff 06-19-2007, 11:06 PM looks good... watch your rear tail lights
burntPiston 06-19-2007, 11:11 PM That looks great, Nick! That angle cut really changes the profile of the Bronco. I'm diggin' that.
Did Solo do the bumper? I called over there today and talked to Bobby. Seemed like a cool guy from the short call we had.
ToddACimer 06-19-2007, 11:40 PM Looks good but there's no body protection at all
bigbroncojeff 06-19-2007, 11:44 PM this style of build it is just about right though
Brokenbronco 06-19-2007, 11:58 PM Looks good but there's no body protection at all
It's not going to see much rock crawling action, so i'm not to concerned about body armor.
ToddACimer 06-20-2007, 12:22 AM Do you have a side shot with the tailgate down?
Dustin 06-20-2007, 12:37 AM yeah damn tailights. I got spares left over!
nice bumper tho. I dig it.
Brokenbronco 06-20-2007, 01:11 AM Thanks guys!
Todd i'll get a pic with the gate down tomorrow.
fartman 06-20-2007, 11:39 AM I like it.
California Monkey 06-20-2007, 12:53 PM That's a really nice cut to accent the bumper. really changes the whole "saggy ass" look of the bronco. Lookin good.

Your trucks looks great
jimyz250 06-25-2007, 01:00 AM very nice and very clean thats what I liked about it, great trim job too. :thumbup why are you going to go with a swing away? woiuldnt it be better for pre running to get it inside and low?

I've gone back and forth on having the spare in the cab, or on the bumper. I decided to go on the bumper so as to keep a little more weight further back. It seems that with as short of a wheelbase as a bronco has, a little weight rear ward would be good.
That and i hate the smell of rubber in the cab!
jimyz250 06-26-2007, 02:30 AM I feel ya on getting the weight back alittle maybe keep it from kickin, but I am new to the bronco scene and my old f-100 liked weight as centered as possible. I am sure there are some others out here that have opinions about wher ethey should go... anyone? pros and cons of spared on bumper or mounted inside over rear end.
Blueblood 07-27-2007, 01:30 AM Broken bumper looks good. opinion are like aceholes but here it goes. Bunderson built bronco(was in dirtsports mag) has what looks to stock type, but the latch is built on the bumper (latch is not on the tailgate)which is one of the better idea for a stock style mount. i have heard of guy running 35" on the stock carrier being ripped off the wheel just by the weight of the tire. so a bumper latch is ideal if you what stock style. supported off the rear bumper would be the best (no attachment to the body or/and the tailgate). when i have the $$$ i want to get a glass tailgate (autofab) so a stock style latch would not be good. i do not like and/or seen a mount that is all off the rear bumper. as far as weight being as far back as you can get it, its proably not a bad idea. ideas i have been thinking about is one 35" flat in the back (i want to run a race style bench seat) or two 35" mounted against the sides and run 1 seat in the back or narrower bench (66-77 bronco with).
P.S broken sorry to jack your thread

I second that. I've got my spare on the back along with 2 gas cans, a hi lift jack and a race jack. Helps keep the nose up on jumps and leaves room inside for more gear.
broncoboy23 07-31-2007, 05:58 PM I love the angle cut on the rear fenders. Did you do any patch work to the metal there or what? If you have any more detailed pictures of that Id love to see em, thanks. Also the bumper just screams pre-runner, it looks awesome.
