I have been looking for the disassembly and assembly procedures for the m5od-r2 transmission out of my 1990 5.0L v8 bronco, unfortunately all I have found is a blown up diagram. Does anyone know of any good resources on this particular transmission?

Ever think about investing in a set of real Ford Shop Manuals for your
Bronco?
I copied off the important parts for a ZF (M5od-HD) overhaul but didn't
bother doing that for the Mazda (M5od-R2). :/
Since then the Linux software/drivers for my Mac/HP scanner has gone
belly up. :/ Updates/Upgrades leave some of that good old stuff in the
dust. Recently my Mac/HP LaserJet has been left out in the cold too. :/
But besides all that the factory instructions on the ZF really suck. :/
The ZF is way easier to work on than Ford wants you to know.
A local transmission repairman ("the ZF guy in Tucson") told me over the
phone how to take a ZF apart. "I slam 'en down on concrete " -he said
Worked like a charm!
Even if you got the Ford Shop Manual it'd pay to call around and maybe
go talk to a guy that rebuilds 'em for a living before tearing into yours.
That's what I'd do, is all I'm sayin'.
Might turn out you may not need any more than an "exploded view".
I haven't looked in the Ford Shop Manual for the Mazda-R2 yet but
seems like there's got to be more to it.
Steve, Ford's ZF instructions are long and detailed and suck because
of a real bad case of overkill. Wondering if their Mazda instructions
was the same way.
You're STILL going on about a transmission that the guy DOESN'T have.
Yes, there are a few other specific steps only referenced in that caption.
But that's the overall procedure.
Got off my lazy butt and checked out the Ford instructions for the Mazda
M5od-r2 is covers 35 pages. The T18 covers 17 pages. The {name not to
be mentioned again ;} covers 55 pages.
Try Googling around for the M5OD and you'll find something out there on a complete teardown/rebuild for the R1 out of a Thunderbird or Ranger or Explorer or something... It's essentially the same unit internally, I think, from what I've read and been told. I found it a year or two ago when I thought I was going to do that job myself. I decided that I'd rather let a professional do it from a cost perspective. I don't have half the tool I'd need to do the job right and by the time I bought all them and the parts to do the job, I could pay a guy to do it cheaper.
Thanks Miesk. That MN12 site was the one I'd found the info from. After I posted that, I went back looking for it and couldn't find it anymore. That explains it. Never thought to search the WayBack machine. I had actually printed it out back then as was going to compile it into a reference book for when I got the time to tear out and repair the transmission. I'm not sure now where I put them.
