torque my trans
hey i have a 95 ford bronco 5.8L. i need to torque the screws on my trans pan and idk what to torque it to. i have a E40D trans, 20bolt. and some screws dnt tighten up, how do i fix that, get a longer or wider screw? thanks

10-12 ft pnds. Do them in a criss cross pattern. Get yourself a Haynes manual. Its a great resource for things like this.
What do you mean buy "dnt tighten up"? Are they stripped? If so, are you sure? And you are sure, is it the bolt or the trans housing?

Sounds like helicoil time, I had one threaded hole get stripped when I changed my pan. They don't need much torque at all, but tightening sequence is important.

Yeah, not hard to strip them out. Time to tap them out to the next size up. Like Shane said, 10-12 lbs.
