TT Killer update: I can't believe it's ALREADY November 1st! The race car is coming together fine right now, yesterday I got a lot done including mounting the radiator, plumbing, fuel cell, fillers, fuel lines (most of them), front shocks, MSD coil packs & wires (new ones from MSD, thanks Ed) and tightned the rear hubs to 600lbs. Today will be another butt kicker but the light is at the end of the tunnel. Hopefully it should be ready to fire up next weekend and ready for a test run. Cross your fingers.........

Rough only at the narrows in two places. Everything else is sand with a few rocks to avoid.

OK. So where do you guys get your insurance for going to Mexico? My buddy Kenneth says there is a guy on RDC or something who sells and gives good pricing. I need to get this sorted if I am to try to make it. I just got notice my passport card should be here by Nov. 11th

I've allways gotten mex insurance through AAA. It's a little more expensive, but they will send in a tow truck 50 miles from the boarder, and you can actually speak with an english speaking person when you call. There are other perks that make it worth it to me.

Mex Insurance? I've got a horror story for you regarding one of my personal vehicles and Mex insurance. Long story short, Mex insurance provided $0.00 coverage. My AAA policy, for which I did NOT purchase a AAA extended policy to cover Mexico, ended up paying it out. I give AAA and their team the utmost of respect for doing what they did. And AAA stuck with it, I received a check just over a year after the claim was originally filed with Mex Insurance. My advice? If you are counting 100% for the Mex insurance to actually pay you anything you are living in a dream land. Yes, lots of claims are paid, but there are quite a few that are not. Also, certain companies require the "repairs" be made by a company of their choosing, and most of them are on the wrong side of the border. Read the fine print very, VERY carefully.

Oh yeah, I used the same SCORE recommended Insurance Co that I had been using for the last 15 years. I cannot recommend them, not even the tiniest amount. I've made an agreement with myself and others to never take any personal vehicle of value to Mexico again because of the headaches and expense I endured.

YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!

With that said, http://www.bajabound.com/ has been given pretty good reviews by the RDC crowd. I've never personally done business with Alex but he appears to be a good guy.

Baja Insurance

Any of the mail order places work. Just get liability. That will keep you out of jail if you have a fender bender. Any insurance other than liability is a waste of $$. Then for the fix just get your buddy to trailer it north. Been doing that for 7 years and it works.
