Its a slow but sure process but i cant wait to see this when its all complete, awsome job ranger! I wanted to ask you before, have you ever thought about building up a relic type truck for yourself with all the same same original parts and specs as your totaled F-150 with "Rolling Thunder" on the bug visor?

Thanks!

That is kind of what I did with my black F-250 now, that's why I put the Fun Country tires on it. I still have that bug guard, used to have it on my 250, it's the only thing I have left of that truck. That bug guard is close to 30 years old now.

The 250 looks awsome too, i thought that might be it. both those trucks look very similar, i always wanted to invest my time and money into a good build of an older truck with all vintage parts. but after seeing how the 150 looked back in its day theres no doubt that when the funds allow its gunna happen!

what ever happened with your 150 anyway? i saw the pics on your supermotors of it wrecked and always wondered

Ranger, the newer versions of the dome light give off a lot more light. You can find them in black and gray too.

I bought that truck when I was 17, it was brand new, I didn't even have my D/L yet. In fact I ended up taking and passing my D/L test in that truck. Anyhow I had to take my sister a few towns away on a Friday night. On the way back I was in a hurry to go hang with my friends. I approached this intersection, I had a stop sign they didn't (50 MPH speed zone for them) and as I got closer to it something told me to go ahead and California it. Well that was a mistake, I looked both ways and didn't see anything but in the blind spot of my pillar was a Chevy Blazer. He hit me in the very rear corner of the bed and ended up flipping the truck over and I landed on a Delta 88 (you can see it in one of those pictures) that was waiting on the other side of the intersection. After hitting the Delta 88 the truck rolled off of it and ended up laying on it's side in the ditch. When the cops got there I had lied to them and told them my brakes had failed. Being young, only 19 then, I didn't know anything about how insurance worked. I lost my ass on that truck. The wrecked pictures where some of the stuff is missing were taken at the towing yard the next day. I ended up pulling as much of my stuff of it as I could. They wouldn't let me have the tires cause I didn't have any replacements to put on it. From what I understand the truck was sold at auction and Ford ended up coming after me for a couple grand to payoff the loan on it. The payment on the truck was only 153 bucks a month, still remember that. That was probably THE DUMBEST things I had ever done when I was a teenager.

Thanks, I have to hit a local J/Y to find one to put in. I'd like to find one out of a Superduty, I think it would work fine plus they are available in gray.

Ahh, thats really just a shame, all those spur of the moment things always come back to bite you in the ass. i cant say i havent done anything like that before though...when i was younger i was getting on the highway in my first truck(84 f-150) after it rained the entire day so everything was wet, my tires started spinning and it was uphill so not really thinking i put my foot down and the rear end of the truck slid out just enough and i got clipped on the rear driver side, it spun me completely around into a motel entrance, i had the truck for 3 or 4 weeks so it really bummed me out, its all in the past though, atleast you have a good way of finding these spectacular trucks to replace the ones that dont make it!

Ever since that truck they have been in my blood. I'll die with at least 3 of them now.

A member here pointed me to the crew on ebay. He knew I was looking for one and had he not PM'd me the link I would of never knew it was on there.

Thanks, I was at the shop doing some final adjustments on the doors tonite. I am pretty much relying on the availablity of the body shops spray booth now. When he gives me the go ahead I have one more coat of primer for the cab and then an epoxy sealer coat over the whole thing then paint. Hopefully not to much longer.

Really, you haven't bought the paint yet? I always buy all my paint and supplies at the start to ensure I don't blow my money on other things before I'm done and also and more importantly as a motivator for when I get sick of sanding the bondo, I look over at the paint cans just itching to be applied and even pop the lid sometimes to look at the colour and imagine the finished product. It works wonders for me. I guess I'm like the rest, just eager to see the finished product.

No paint yet Walt. Believe me I'd of liked to of had it squirted by now but it has been pretty tough the last 3 months. Work doesn't look like it is going to pick back up till Feb so it might be a while. I'm pretty bummed out about it to, I want to see it in color. If someone would buy that rust free longbed I'm selling paint would be the following day! Somebody needs an 8' box.
