Brakes

You Know when you buy new front brake pads? What are those plastic inserts that are the same size as the pads? Do they help with squeaking? I put the new brakes on and once the brakes are warmed up it squeaks like crazy? I also heard to grease the back end of the pads, is that true?

Plastic has no place in the brake pads. There should be steel backers that prevent certain noises, and help insulate the caliper from the pads' heat. Yes, EVERY point of contact on the caliper needs a light coat of grease. Have you read all the captions in my Brakes & Hubs album?
