I just bought a 78 Bronco and have lots of questions. I have done some searching and I have a few things I haven't found answers for. I have seen lots of article on converting to an external spare tire carrier but I like the clean look of the internal spare tire carrier. Does anyone know how big of a tire can fit the stock internal spare tire mount. I just bought the 78 and plan on keeping it fairly stock. I am looking at 31-32 inch tires.
31-32 will fit no problem. A 33 will fit snuggly between the tailgate and seat. A 35 will fit but needs to be raised a little, deflated some and the carrier needs some slight modification.
That is excellent to know. I guess I can order 5 tires when I get them which will double my investment.
