Anyone who's seen standard sheet music will freak out at this, but believe it or not, I have actually seen real music scores like this. It's real experimental avant garde stuff, that no way in hell would I try to play, but it is out there.

Lol. A few years back when my brother was dating his current wife, she and her hot Asian friend were taking naked pictures together with a webcam. She deleted them, but he found them in her recycle bin and saved them to a disk. Low quality, I admit, but still nice pictures. My brother lost the disk, I happened to find it.

Is it illegal to have pictures of your sister in-law when she's naked and making out with her friend when she's underage, but she's of-age now?

Oh, and if I can get a copy of the picture where my buddy's new girlfriend has her foot raised above his head (she can do the splits on the stripper pole in her bedroom) I'll have to make a motivational picture just for here.

Aphex Twin is excellent...the closest thing to "techno" I would ever listen to...and I can't see this possibly being a real score

If I remember, I'll look through some old music and see if I can find some examples. One of my teachers had Jane Rigler, who's into some far out stuff, come to the college last year and she brought some examples of that type of score; not quite as busy as that page is, but still the same kind of concept. The next semester, another teacher was trying to get the band to something similar - half the score was textual instructions about making certain sounds (whistle...random notes...hum...etc.) for a certain amount of time, the director wasn't counting time so much as just giving cues for the next change... Weird stuff.

Here's Jane doing some of her own work; everything you hear is done with a her mouth, a flute, and a computer.

And here's something she did with some other musicians at the LA Center for the Arts, that is the sort of thing that, believe it or not, is at least loosely composed on paper before they get started - not the all the notes themselves, but the basic concept of "at this point, do this, for about so long" sort of thing. People get paid to do this!!!

Jane Rigler, flutist, composer, educator and curator is known for her innovations in new flute performance, techniques and unique musical vocabulary. She is a featured performer in contemporary music festivals throughout the U.S. and Europe as a soloist as well as within chamber ensembles (Ensemble Plural, Either/Or, Ne(x)tworks, Ensemble Sospeso, Anthony Braxton 12tet, etc.). Besides premiering works written especially for her, Jane’s compositions cover simple solo acoustic pieces inspired by language to complex interactive electronic works that pay homage to painting, poetry and dance. After receiving a B.M. (Northwestern University) and then pursuing flute studies in various parts of Europe and North America, she gained her M.A. and Ph.D. (UC San Diego) completing The Vocalization of the Flute, a book demonstrating both new and ancient methods of singing-while-playing the flute. Her expertise has led to performances in contemporary operas, experimental theater and dance events as well as other interactive electronic festivals. Her compositions are sought after by other flutists and have been performed in South Korea, Australia, France, Spain, and in concert halls and universities throughout the U.S.

Ok, I can't find the music yet (I reeeaally need to organize that room!), but I did some research on the image. It doesn't have anything to do with Aphex Twin; it is actually a score called "Faerie's Aire and Death Waltz," credited to a John Stump. It is considered unplayable; after a closer look, I agree.

However, I still stand by my statement that there are similar scores out there that are meant to be played. I imagine this was written to poke fun at those composers.

Possibly Part 2.
