top speed
ok so i have been reading on here and seeing many people say their broncos only go about 85-90 mph? Is this true for most people on here becaue i have a 96 with a 5.0 e40d and mine has hit 105 and still had more in it?

i was just curious cause a lot of people on here had some really low top speeds and they were only running 31-33" tires which really surprised me

Nice. They are technically speed-limited AND rev limited. The motor has its limits programmed (5250 and 5500 for the 5.8L), and those are easy to hit just keeping the shifter in first gear. The speed limiter, however, is pretty darn high. The BIO0 binary has a maximum shaft speed entry of 4560 RPM, but the soft limiters start at around 4000 RPM; as to what that is in vehicle speed, I don't know/care. I set it to 16000, and have a good time as long as I can keep my foot buried to the wood. Another awesome thing is that I can hold it in 3rd as long as I want now, too.

I had 110 on gps with 265/75/15 and a very lightly upgraded 5.8 e40d(found out later the front hubs were locked in too). Now it is heavily upgraded and has a c6 with 33" but I don't think it will go 110 and it shakes with the mud tires bad enough past 85 that I don't know if I could read the gps!
I think the trucks that won't go faster than 85 will be found to have some mechanical "needs" (unless they are a 4.9 I6-they don't like high rpm, high speeds) or are just wore out-the newest bronco out there is 12 years old! AND NO IT IS NOT VERY SMART TO GO HIGH SPEED IN A TRUCK UNLESS IT IS A TROPHY TRUCK IN THE BAJA 1000!!! I KNOW ALREADY!

I dunno what your little toy car engine is limited at. Haven't looked at the binary for one.
![]() EDIT: Just for you, I looked up a VEX1 binary and used CalEdit to take a look. I think there's either a difference between your PCM and a VEX1, or your tach is off:

not everyone is as cool as you. doin 100 in a lifted truck prolly isnt the smartest time to be bustin out a camera. i see you are fairly happy about your 85 mph run. but 100 plus is a little different dodgin through traffic.

The question I always ask myself is why should the I do 75 in the Bronco when I can do 150 instead...

It's an 06. I bought it back in April, sadly I only put 12000 miles on it this summer poor bike got neglected after I bought the car. I know what it's like to slide on pavement at 40mph, I'll skip 150
