Mile Marker Hydraulic Winches

I have heard a lot of [us] talk about these winches - both electric and hydraulic. I am really interested in getting one of these maybe as soon as this Summer. But I wanted to know if anyone had any experience with any model of Mile Marker winch.

Personally, I am most interested in the hydraulic powered model.

I have gotten the DVD from them and watched it (over and over and over and over) and just wanted some other input/ideas.

Yea I have a 12MM Electric winch... sweet for the price and 12K is 12K Warm may be faster but for twice the price I will wait. Works for a while with a dead vehicle etc. Ask and I will answer. Winchesplus.com will do a group buy with 10 or more

Is your Bronco better than mine? Yea but I go to UF.

Buy my stuff, I need it out of my parents storage unit or my tiny apt. I got a tailgate w/glass, tons o tires on rims and boxes of parts.

That MM will be alot faster if you ditch the stock valve or drill out the tiny hole in it and get a 20GPM pump from northern tool.

I would be interested in the group buy as well.
I wonder if we all have to buy the same winch or if some can buy the 9k, some the 12k and maybe others the hydraulic?! I would think that it does not matter as long as we get 10 or more.

Bronco Info: broncoless!

i was planning on a MM 12K hydraulic. right now the best price i have found is sam's offroad 4x4 at $866 which includes the adapter kit. if we can do better than that, i would be in for a group buy.

by the way, daniel, 20 gpm flow? my sag pump is putting out i think something like 4 gpm, and that is supposed to be plenty for the hyd. winch. but you do need the extra flow over the stock ps pump if you go hyd.

I've had a MM 9k Hydraulic for nearly 5 years. It's not the fastest winch out there, but it's bulletproof and reliable.

no, you don't need the extra flow its just alot faster with it.
12K MM motor is rated for 20 GPM.
the stock valve that comes with the winch only flows 3.5 GPM.
but some stock PS pumps only flow about 2GPM.

pressure= pulling power
flow= speed

pirate4X4.com has alot of good info about this.

I would be interested in hydraulic, personally. If we did a group buy I would have to save a little longer - but I would want it.

Bronco Info: 1990 bronco. one ton gear on 40's

i have had a 10,500 hydraulic for several years now and i love it.
the electric guys make fun of its slow speed, but when their warns melt wires, burn up motors, fry alternators, and so on- it is my old MM that pulls them out.
a warn did have to pull me back onto my wheels once though. can't use the MM when you are setting on your roof

Sounds like a deal man! I'd love to see some pics. And lastly, couldn't you make it faster if you used a bigger PS pump??
