hi amp alternators
i am going to add some serious off road lighting to my rig this weekend (maybe 6 lights, but probably just 4, dunno how much they draw yet cuz i don't know which ones i'm getting), and the stock alternator just isn't going to cut it with the amp and all. i need more power (amperage, that is), scotty.
i have been looking at the mean green alternators (pricey) and found this guy at www.excessiveamperage.com who says he custom builds alternators for the car audio nut jobs, and can build me one (200A) for like $250. swears it's bullet proof and better than anything else out there. anyone ever heard of him? says he builds mostly for the southeast. just curious if anyone knows anything. i want the brick sh$thouse equivalent of an alternator, not just one that's ok. |

(Car audio nut-job, here)
I'd recommend www.motorcityreman.com for a hi-amp alt. I've bought two from them and they (and their products) have given me absolutely no problems whatsoever. The last one I got from them was a 200A/ 110A at idle 3G one wire alt which cost about $220 with shipping. They'll build and ship pretty much anything you want in one day, and have the best prices. (I know, because I looked for weeks, and am the biggest penny-pinching bastard there is!)
