Bronco Info: 82 bronco 408w 4" lift 35's, 88 bronco 351w all stock on 31s

AOD and 4r70w torque converter swapable?

so i'll be going to the JY tomorrow to pull an AOD for my explorer build.. but i got to thinking, that there's no way i'm going to get the torque converter off the (cfc) seized/destroyed engine.... so i'm wondering if i can use the torque converter thats already on the engine (from the 4r70w trans) with the AOD transmission? i've heard the 4r70w is an electronically controlled slightly modified AOD (different gearing and VB is all?) so i thought maybe it's possible.

my other question is, where is the torque converter lock up clutch located? in the torque converter or the transmission?

I am no expert but it is my understanding that the AOD is more of a mechanical lockup within the transmission compared to a torque converter clutch lockup like the 4r70 and other overdrive automatic transmissions Ford has.
