Bronco Info: 1988 XLT Bronco

Side views...with the signal, are impossible to find

Why is it that NOBODY sells these darn mirrors with the signals? I have an XLT that i'm trying to build up and make nice, and I think it be an awesome touch, but they're just damn hard to find!

I guess they were an option that nobody wanted? Maybe i'm just crazy for liking them

Now to find a drivers side.

Yeah I have seen them on ebay within the past month. Can't remember how much they were though. I just remember coming across them while browsing through parts and thinking how I've never seen bronco signal mirrors before, heh.

Edit

Damn just searched on ebay.... $200 a f*ckin mirror dude!

ebay link

I just checked my aftermarket company on these they don't make them. I can check Monday when I get to work and see how much the Ford ones are if you want.

You can't get them from ford. I think bossind was the one who searched all around the united states looking for a replacement and posted his findings.

Used or that ebay source is your last resort.

I have a 1996 EB, I believe they came only on the Broncos that year on EB. My mirror fell out on the passenger side, so I searched for ever. Found one by searching on google/internet at a JY. At the time they wanted $125, I thought that was high so I passed on it and couldnt find one for months afterwards. Just went to the glass shop and put in a regular mirror. Works great.

Good info. As the one I just got, the mirror isn't 100%, and I want to put a new glass onto it.

If you dont know the Ford mirror has a red color backing to help illuminate the turn signal. Although I see no difference using a regular mirror.

Hey jopes, I regularly go past Alpha automotive here in Green Bay. If you want me to stop in and buy them then ship them to you or anything, please let me know. I have no connections with the place, but I'm local to them. They are a nice place.

Hell, for $200 a side I'd just custom fab myself some. Doesn't take a rocket scientist or anything. Some LEDs and 1 way mirror, heck even a regular mirror would work, just thin the silver a little in the area of the LEDs.

steve83 in the past gave his opinion on the best way to make a turn signal mirror. I'm just to lazy to search on it.

If you keep the heat under control, no reason you could not Silicone them right to the back of the mirror. If you must, you could fab a simple bracket and silicone it into place. I know they make add-on mirror heaters, don't know why one couldn't fab an add-on signal behind the glass. As for adding it to a stock system, you'd just need to splice into the signal wires under the dash. I've custom fab'd crazy stuff in the Army no reason to stop now.
