Speedo Cable Removal

Hello,

Any advice on how to remove the speedo cable from the back of the guage cluster...I have searched and came up with only a few vague descriptions on how to remove it. Thanks in advance.

By the way it is on a 1976 Ford 150.

There's a metal collar on the end of the cable where it snaps into the back of the speedo. You have to cock the collar to one side and pull back on the cable. it's a pain cuz they don't leave you much room to get your hands back there.

just pull the dash out, and then the cable slides pretty easily off of the gauge cluster, i did this on my 79 so i could get historic plates and pay cheap-o insurance

I've always pulled the dash out. Don't recall any problems.

i just checked mine, i see no clip but it could be missing it, and the speedo cable has a snug fit but comes out easily with a good tug...hope that helps!
