Proper way to bypass the rear window switch

Ok tailgate is on but same problem as with others, motor works direct to a battery but not with the switch up front. Being the sick person that I am, I decided "we don't need no stinking latch switch" So to bypass it I found that the switch up front was working properly back at the tail light. Up gave power to 1 pink wire and down gave power to the other. This is probably completely wrong but I spliced the 2 pink wires directly to the 2 yellow & red wires off the motor. (seperately of course) However it still don't work. I would think there needs to be a ground somewhere doesn't there? Anyway how is the proper way to bypass the system. I don't even want the key to work just the front switch.

The dash switch is always grounded, and so is one side of the motor. To go one way, the switch just applies power to the other motor wire. But to go the other way, it interrupts the constant ground and grounds the other wire, then applies power to the wire which is normally grounded ft.

This might at least get you going in the right direction.

Ok, thanks guys I think one of the biggest problems is woos motor that works the window. Wonder if it's possible to get more power out of it?

Bypass the switch by bridging a wire across it. That easy...

any pics??

i've tried to hack this business, but i can't find the switch. It's hard to work inside the tail gate. I know there's a whole wire harness thing in the tailgate, but what does the switch look like, and where is it attached? I can't wait to get my rear window working....
Thanks, tim
