dies off idle
i have a '95 xlt bronco 351.
speed density, auto, 4x4 motor is stock. when leaving a stop light or just idling through a parking lot, the bronco dies on me. when approching a stop sigh it dies. this doesn't happen every time. it is very random. i couldn't pull any codes, took it to a local shop they couldn't pull any codes or get it to die on them. they cleaned the IAC and TB. any help would be great. i believe i need a new IAC and TPS. i don't just want to throw money at this thing. thanks |

First, welcome to the site..to help us help you better, fill out you profile with the specifics of your rig, year engine and so forth.
when you say dies on you, does the engine sputter than stop, or does the electrical quit. |

It's a little difficult to diagnose without any codes. Sounds like you need to take a look at your ignition system.
What happens after it dies? Can you immediately restart it, or does it have to sit for a while? Does the starter crank and the engine not turn over? |

I feel like mine is heading in that direction.
I have 95 5.0 Yesterday when idling I put it in reverse to back out of my space and it just went "dead". It started right back up. read my thread and see if you are having similar symptoms. I was able to pull codes I just have to figure out how to read the blinks. |

without and codes, like I said you might want to check your ignition system. Could be a problem with the PIP in the distributor. Also, couldn't hurt to run a fuel pressure test to at least rule that out.

Remove IAC motor. Clean. Re-install.
All fords seem to do this after a while. Clean it up and you'll be good for several more years.

Read through the tech write ups and Steve83's supermotors and clean/test the IAC, TPS, ICM, etc. You will need a multi meter and the knowledge to use it.
