Converting round base 3157 bulbs to blade style ??'s
Well I just received my front turn signal led bulbs that I ordered on ebay today in the mail. Excited I went to the garage to change them out. Well dummy me forgot that my '88 uses the round base 3157 bulbs.
![]() So my question is do the later year bronco's/F150's use the blade style bulbs? If so what years did they start using them? I guess I will be making a run to the pick-n-pull to get me some blade style sockets. And now that I think about it I'm sure I will need to grab the tail light turn signal and brake light sockets as well. Also will the later year sockets work with the '88's? |

Okay research shows the blade style socket was used on Brono/F150's from '92-'96. Dorman has a replacement part no. 85892. So they should be plentiful at the local yard! Now only question before I run out there tomorrow....Will the '92-'96 sockets fit the '88 lenses?

Not sure. But you can always test fit the 92-96 sockets into a 88 lens. I'm sure there will be at least 1 88 style f150. Or get one socket and go out to ur truck and try it out.
