iTrader: (0) Bronco Info: 1986 fullsize xlt 5.0

I just bought a 86 xlt fullsize 5.0. Here's my issue I have changed my tank fuel pump, both fuel filters, oil change, distributor, cleaned the injectors, re- timed, and ran a fuel pressure test. The only mod I have not done myself is put on roller rocker racing heads. Now the problem is it will drive for a good 30 min but when my thermostat gets to about 190 degrees or hotter it just wants to die. It will idle fine but when I accelerate she wants to die and starts to sputter like she is not getting gas and in some cases she just dies completely and I have to wait for her to cool down to start again. I want to know if this may be from the ignition module getting too hot since it is on the distributor and that gets wicked hot. Is there a way to move the module or get one that has a higher heat resentance or is there something else that could be wrong? I love this girl and want to get her running like a champ again so she can play in the mud please help me thank you!!

Also check fuel pressure when this happens. My 86 would run fine for about 15 to 30 minutes then die. Fuel pressure was fine cold but the regulator failed when warm. I agree with the other posts too.

For remote mounting of the Gray Distributor Mount Push Start TFI ICM, all you need is a remote mount heat sink with this sweet harness...
RJM Injection Technologies Remote TFI Harness I also agree with checking the fuel pressure first. And, as always, check for Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
