Rear vinyl seat
Ok guys, I want to start collecting parts while I am working, so when I am laid off, I can have the items to install.
I have put in a set of 1st gen Lightning buckets and console to replace the beat up original Vinyl buckets. Now I need a vinyl bench to match the buckets(charcoal). How common were the XL broncos. I assume that was all the vinyl came in. I want to keep the rear seat vinyl, because I plan on leaving the top of 50% of the time and just put in on for the winter to keep snow out while it is parked. I am also going to need the complete interior in the charcoal as well. I think I have a lead on the door panel and forward. I would still need the B pillars and the rest of the cargo area. WOuld 87-91 parts work in my 96?

"Custom" was vinyl. I don't have production stats, but I would guess only about 15% were customs.
As far as interior, the earlier stuff will physically "fit" but the 96 had provisions for stuff the 87-91 didn't....like rear seat belts. Door panels won't match dash and window vents are different. Short answer is "no"

Brad, I have used some different types of vinyl paint to paint interior items and have never been overly impressed with the results. Maybe it was the brand I picked, or the application in which I applied, or just me but if you are looking for a "factory correct" look, I would suggest using replacement parts. IIRC ford went to cloth vs vinyl from 94-96 for their seats... JMO

92-96 have rear seat shoulder belt mounting points attached to camper top for outboard rear seats.
