which to buy
I am gonna buy abronco. Imand have 2 i am lookin any input? My use will be off and on daily driver. 90kms/day and no rock crawling but lots of winter/summer pasture driving and hunting. Both i am looking at have decent bodies. One is a 351 rebuilt and bored 0.090 over with aftermarket carb etc and a pto winch. Its a 78 free wheelin package. The other is a 79 ranger xlt with a factory I6 300 automatic 300K on it with an electric winch also has ls front and rear diffs. Are they pretty good? I will be drivin through very deep snow while hunting and my poor yj wouldn't cut it. Not sure if the ls diffs are very affective. Thx for any imput

90 thousandths is a lot of overbore on any motor. The 300 is a very good engine for most uses other than high horsepower use. The PTO winch intrigues me though. I would like to see photos of the setup. Usually PTO winches are only found on larger military and commercial vehicles. A 79 with an EFI 300 and a 5 speed overdrive trans would be a very nice setup. If I was starting with a carbed 300 I would go with an aftermarket EFI setup designed to bolt inplace of a 4 barrel carb.

Go with the I6. But damn its hard to pass up a free wheeling bronco, I love those graffics.

Both sound interesting with the brief detail you gave us. Are they local to you or can you post a link for us to pick apart a little more.

They are both around 1000kms from me and they must both be away for holidays as i have been unable to contact them. Not so good for links n stuff cause i only have my cell for internet and i really suck at figuring things like that out. I was proud of myself for just being able to register her and start a thread lol

The only other i know about em is the 79 I6 ranger xlt is red and white and has all the chrome strip still on it. The 78 free wheelin is brown with a cremestrip and smaller creme pinstripping by the look of the pics. Has the black bumpers and mirrors is how i figured its a free wheeling bronco

1 - punctuation 2 - grammar 3 - spell-check "One is a 351 rebuilt and bored 0.090 over..." Seriously doubt that.

I have LS on front and rear and it does great for co snow as daily and hunt rig. So far only seen 12" then hardback underneath no issues yet. Would I have done a LS in rear now I'm thinking a locker selectable locker but to late.

I worked in the oilfield. You are the first" roughneck" i have come across that has given much thought to the grammatical correctness of any conversation but i suppose it's healthy to accept criticism. Thank you.
