new member introduction
Hi Guys and probably ladies. My name is Ben, I live in South Australia. Ive had my 1984 FSB for about 3 hours. Spent heaps of $$ on it. Ill post some pics. Ive had 3 jeep wranglers and have a couple of mates with the latest ones and surprisingly they dont drive any better than my big bronco.
Here are a few of the mods: 351c with headers and full stainless system 3.5 inch into two 4 inch cannons at the rear. performance and sound improvements were considerable. I dont know numbers of HP etc sorry. 4 inch skyjacker lift with extended radius arms. all new TRE and front and rear diffs rebuilt with 4.53 gears. 20x12 rockstars blacked out.....I HATE THEM WITH THE STUPID STAR HUB CAP!! 36x15.5/20 mickey thompson ATZ's. bushwacker cut out extended flares. i stripped the interior and resprayed it matt black. New FPV (for performance vehicles - here in AUS) leather seats. full respray - it is factory black. stage 2 shift kit. trans rebuild. B&M shifter. new carpet and rubbers. no rust. runs 100% on LPG, as its my daily driver. im considering several more improvements but undecided yet. Will likely stroke it in the coming year. Im keen to hear from anyone about beefing up the steering as it has a general level of slop which i believe is expected with these size tyres. Ive narrowed it down to the tension at the pitman arm as when it gets retensionsed the steering is better. I hope to speak to and see what everyone else is doing with and to their FSB. There arent alot of bronco fans here, but when I don meet them its like meeting a long lost brother lol Last edited by bmad; 01-20-2013 at 07:08 PM. Reason: missed out some info |

Welcome! It sounds like a fun truck. Congrats.
![]() This is the 2nd Bronco with a Cleveland that I've heard of in Australia. Here in the states they quit making them in about 74, so we never got them in our FSBs. Got any pics?

That 3.5 inch exhaust may be a bit to big, bit I've only heard that 3.0 is to big for the winsors so I don't know about Clevelands. Here in the states those wheels are about $1200 used iirc so I would flip them and get what you want. Welcome

all my photos of my FSB are on my PC. ill put some on my facebook then link them to here. As far as I know all 80's broncos in australia were clevelands. The 302 was a windsor. The 351s are very common here in aus in 70's and 80's fords. im really happy with the exhaust. its not too loud but has a very throaty sound to it. it was a full custom job. my engine came with a lumpy cam.

I don't know about Australia but in the states Windsor came in bronco (along with others) and Cleveland came in cars, you 100% sure you got a Cleveland? Cause you could have the Windsor.

Off the top of my head the Windsor family includes 221, 260, 289, 302, & 351. Frequently you hear the term used to clarify which 351 you're talking about since there are multiple 351s, but those others are Windsors too. Is a Boss 302 considered a Windsor, or do the differences cause it to be considered its own animal?

Doggone it you beat me to it, E.K. :) 400m? Calling it a 400m don't bother me none but one thing's for sure, Ford didn't ever -need- to call their 400 a "400 modified" so Ford prob'ly never called their 335-based-400 a "400m". ;) Betcha. ;) So what? :) So, "302w" is more-right than "400m", that's what. ;) LOL Butthead in AZ ps- I've never seen a 351C. :/ Or a 427FE either. |

and of course it wasn't. :/ Not sure when or where the lie started but in the case of 390FE's vs 360FE's ...I believe that lie started at the dealership. But B.C.62, that isn't the case with Aussie's, they got all sorts of cool stuff we never even got close to here ...and high volumes of 351C's is included. :) I've tested quite a few FE's and only one time was the seller was lying, the others (I could tell) felt like their puppy'd just got run over when I told 'em it was a lowly 360. :) Gotta measure the stroke on FE's.
