High pitch noise

Well for the last two weeks I've been try to figure out where this noise is coming from and finally figure it out.. My throttle body is bad and now I need a new one, any advice on where I can get one for cheap? Or maybe I'm thinking of upgrade to a better one! I can't go to the for sale section but if anybody can help me out I would much appreciate it...:)

I've never heard of a throttlebody making a high pitch noise. Interested to hear what exactly causes that but as far as cheap goes...like anything else. Go to a junkyard and pull one of a wrecked unit

It was the coil that is attached to the throttle body that is leaking. The one that controls the throttle cable..

Are you talking about the return spring? That can't leak - it must be the bushing & seal on that side of the throttle shaft that you're hearing. Try putting some THICK silicone grease (like MotorCraft Dielectric, or NAPA Sil-Glide) around the shaft against the housing using a Q-tip to see if that stops the noise.

Yes the return spring is leaking air. There is a shaft that goes straight threw the throttle body, and right were the return spring is a vacuum leak. I sprayed carb cleaner and my rpms jumped. I finally had to take it to a shop and they told me the same thing that its leaking and I need a new throttle body.. I know it does not sound right and wish I could explain it better.

Steave 83 are you saying I can repair it with a sealer?

The return spring isn't designed to hold air; therefore it can't "leak". It merely happens to be installed around where your TB is worn. No, you can't permanently repair the leak with grease, but you could positively ID it as the source of the noise by at least momentarily stopping it. Any sealer strong enough to adhere to the throttle body would interfere with the shaft's movement.

Well I know for sure there is a leak by the shaft so I need a new one... I'm just glad it will finally stop the high pitch noise and cure my vacuum leak issue I've been trying to find.. Plus again I had a complete race shop who deal with just fords tell me that's I was right on and that it's leaking and that I need a new one so I'm pretty happy about that but hating that I have to spend 200 on a new one...

You don't need to get it off a bronco. just get a TB off whatever the fawk engine you have (it'd be nice if you had it listed in your bronco information). Shit, I think the 302 and the 351 use the same TB, but I could be wrong.

Throttle bodies almost NEVER go bad. It's very rare, yours is the exception. Get a JY TB, clean it, swap your IAC and TPS, install with a new gasket and go on with your life.

No, it's a 5.8; 351 is a carb engine. And if your K&N is open to the engine bay, it's a HOT-air intake.

My point is: it's common to use c.i. for carb engines, and L for EFI. Whatever you want to do - ONE is enough. Read this caption & use that space in your profile (and signature) for USEFUL info - not redundancy again repeated over & over.

Steve is an argumentative dick, but he knows his shit, quit whining and we're more abt to help. And he right its a HOT air intake. It's long been known that the factory air intake on these trucks is far superior AND is true cold air.
