Interchangeable hoods?
So I have an 83 that I just bought tomorrow.. Lol
There was an individual selling a "steel cowl hood" for a bronco in my year he sold from under me. And I can't find another hood like this anywhere.. If I do I'd assume it would be an arm and a leg. But what other vehicles could I search under that would match/fit the 83 bronco? I'm meaning like f-150 Hoods that would match up etc.

'80-82 hoods are slightly different - they have FORD letters across the front edge. In '83, the blue oval went into the grille, and the hood letters were dropped. Otherwise, they're interchangeable up to '86.

Be cautious in what you buy.
I've never bought one for a truck but my experience with the car hoods is that there is a wide range of quality and fit with them.

check the yards. your likely to find a cowl hood that just needs a paint job. and since it was already on something you'll know it fits right.

It seems like the junk yard is the best way to go, I can't seem to find much online. Andy's doesn't have anything really, bronco graveyard didn't have it, car ID is a joke, idk where else to look really..

Yea the graveyard has quite a bit that even my local parts store doesn't even sell,
I find it hard to trust e/bay with the right info/ what will and will not fit. |
