Pretty sure 0. I mean theres that computer looking box under the hood but its not a computer per say. Everything else is mechanical or basic electrical.

Compared to the moon landers, the Bronco clock is computer-controlled. Compared to a modern car, there is no computer in a Bronco.
What are you trying to do??? |

The Bronco came to me as a non runner. I want to geyt it running and roadworthy and have done this with many older non computer controlled vehicles when I saved em from the crusher. I just wanted to see what I was up against as I go through this vehicle to try to get it running. No computer controlled crap in my eyes is a blessing.

Well, the early MCUs were annoying & not very effective, but the EEC-IV EFI system is VERY reliable, simple (for EFI), dependable, serviceable, & economical.

Which engine is it? The 300 I6 used a computer to advance the timing and adjust fuel mixtures on the carb.

No. I think the first electronically-controlled carbs appeared in '83, but my truck originally had a "dumb" carb (vacuum-controlled; it sucked).

Who did the swap? Were any electronics removed or added? Have you thoroughly inspected it to see exactly how it was built, and how it's put together now? Read these captions: |

I don't have a lot of history on the vehicle. I got it from a guy that got from a guy that gotbit from a guy...the guy I got it from didn't do anything to the vehicle, and I got it from exactly howc he got it from the owner before him...confused yet? Ill really have to do some tracing of vacuum lines and such, good thing about it though is where I live there are zero emission inspections. So if therecis an item that's not absolutely essential to the performance of the vehicle but is emissions related, and isn't there...no real need to worry.

Yeah, there's a little worry... The emissions systems ALSO make the engine run better. Before ripping out all the emissions systems on your vehicle, read this article.
