Alright im listening. I think im just gonna build a 351w with some aftermarket and stock parts.

Heads: GT40 or AFR Heads

Cam: Whats considered an RV cam? And should I go flat tippet or roller?

Intake: GT40 Lightning intake or Edelbrock Performer

Computer: I read the 89-93 Mustang EFI MAF computers are the best for tuning?

Of course good set of headers and throttle body etc..
Also, would a supercharger or turbocharger be a good idea? Or should I stroke it to a 408? How does this all affect the EFI? And would a supercharger or turbocharger mess with the mass air flow sensor? Or should I do one of the above and just go carburatored?
Thanks-

An R/V cam is similiar to the one I have in my 350 horse Cummins motor in my 40' motorhome. It makes a real good lope. You would want to go with rollertip lifters, they roll over the cam better than a flat tippet or is that tappet, can't remember.

There's a local guy who blew a head gasket in his Lightning's 351 so he swapped in a 4L80E & LQ9 6.0 LS gm v8. With a programmer, headers, and rear end gears on drag radials, he's getting 25+ mpg on the interstate & I've watched him walk off on many a modified Anything.

I say go with a nice cam, the Edelbrock intake, a set of GT40 or AFR heads, some nice headers, bassani Y pipe & a MAF system. That's enough to keep you busy & keep your wallet empty for a while. You'll be happier with the results than you would be with an engine swap.

There's no way in hell an LQ9 gets 25+ mpg in anything other than a shopping cart...

Wait, speed in a Bronco??? Hmmm.... when someone has this answer please let me know!!! if you want speed, well a Bronco isn't gunna get you there. They're slow!!! Even my ol 351 was slow!!! 460 is even slower!!!!

Here's how you accomplish speed... sell the Bronco, go out to the dealer, craigslist, autotrader, your pick on classified ads, and find a Mustang or something of that nature. A Bronco is a TRUCK. TRUCKS are not built for speed. they're built for utility.

Well, those are different. He's talking about making his bronco fast by using small block and big block Ford truck motors.

If he really wants to make it fast.... why not strap a 10,000 hp jet turbine with 7500 lbs of thrust on it!
