GOOD EATS

I spent the last three hours making these up. There a lot of work to make, but there good eatin'. I know the Mass, RI, NY, NJ and Maine guys will know what they are, but curious if you other Midwestern guys know what they are.(there's one missing 'cause I was hungry)

Those look damn good. I donít think Iíve ever seen those, but Iíll wager a guess and say Deviled Clams, since they look like deviled crabs, which Iím very familiar with.

The local grocery store sells things that look similar to those but are much smaller... and sadder-looking.

I think they're crab cakes. I dunno though. I live in the desert. Things like "snow" and "the ocean" are foreign concepts to me.

However, they seem to be some kind of seafood (shells are a dead give-away) item and look like they would go great with a Corona.

@MS88Bronc they are called Stuffed Quahogs. They are made by steaming the quahogs in beer, sazon, olive oil and garlic until they open up.
Then they are separated from the shells, chopped up and then placed back in the "broth" from steaming. Next you fry some Portuguese ground up Chourico in olive oil. Add chopped garlic, onions and peppers until tender. I strain the chopped quahogs and add them back into the mix. You can use bread crumbs, but I use croutons that I run through the food processor and dump them into the pan (I use a BIG pan) Add some Worcestershire, some hot pepper flakes, some more olive oil, chopped parsley and mix thoroughly. I then ladle in the broth until I get a thick paste consistency, something that you can pack into the half shell. I taste and adjust my seasoning as needed. Remove it from the heat and separate and clean your bigger shells so you can use them to make the stuffies. Pack your mix firmly into the shells and bake at 350į for 20-30 minutes to get a "crust" on the top. When done, add a pad of butter and grab a bear.

Iíll reiterate my previous statement - those look damn good. I grew up in Charleston SC and used to throw cast nets for shrimp and leave out pots for blue crab. The blue crabs along the SC coast arenít huge, so one of the things we would do is grind up all the crab meat and do something similar and stuff the crabís body with a similar concoction - Deviled Crabs. Iíve never experienced the stuffed Quahog - but I bet itís delicious.

Thanks.
I love crab meat, nice and sweet, actually enjoy it more than lobster. We make the same thing here except we call them Crab cakes.
I also like to steam them whole in beer and eat them with some melted butter.

Ah I see. We also had crab cakes, but they were more like ďcrab croquetsĒ as they did not use the shell to hold them - more of a patty.

They look wickad.

Next thing you know you will have a some smelts fried up.

Watched the HBO series about that crazy bitch that texted the 18 year old kid about suicide until he killed himself last night. I'm sure you know all about it since it happened right around you.
