I can't imagine what you are going through. Just looking at these pictures and thinking of my two little girls brings tears to my eyes. May God be with you and your family.

We made it home late last night. We go back on the 21st for a check-up. Will most likely be down there for the whole day. I think we will find out then if the radiation/chemo/prednisone shrunk the thing down or got rid of it all together. God I hope it's just gone. And I hope bone has stated growin back on her vertebrae. I still don't know how much of it actually got eatin away, but I think that the pressure the tumor was puttin on her spine and spinal cord was what was worrying the docs the most.

She is totally cranky and almost unmanageable. But she is getting more movement out of her neck and shoulder, so that is good.

We had a little surprise b-day party for Taran today after she got out of school. She was pretty upset and feeling left out after the nurses threw the little party for Loran and was even more upset when we weren't here with her on her own birthday, so we had to make it up to her. She was pretty happy and excited. So that was nice.

All the drivin has had me laid up on my back tho most of the day and maybe tomorrow too. We are gonna try to take the girls to see Spiderman 3 tomorrow if I can make it.

I will upload some b-day party pics later.

Hey Joe, I try to keep up on your posts and want to reply alot of the time--but honestly I don't know what to say. I have two little girls of my own (5 and 3 in July (one on the way too)) and I don't know if I would be able to handle what you've gone through.

You have a very beautiful family and I believe that things will work out in the end. I don't pray as much as I should, but know that when I do your family is in there.

If there is ever anything I can do please let me know.

Got back from San Fran last night at 2am. Xrays looked good but got to go back in three weeks for an MRI. Trip sucked. Loran was a handful. Stress level high all around.

Also got to see a back specialist. He is gonna be takin a whack at gettin my back fixed. I will be gettin my own MRI done here sometime next week and goin back down there (he is in San Fran also) for some more diagnostic injections and hopefully some relief. Also hopin for a long term plan for my back.

Now just got to get an ankle specialist to look at me.

We got back from San Fran a few days ago. The docs are happy with the results of the MRI. They say the tumor has shrunk. They did not say how much it had shrunk or if it had shrank as much as they wanted/expected. They side-stepped all my questions about it. But they were happy with it. The neurologist also was happy with the results.

She seems to be gettin a little better everyday. Gettin more range of motion in her neck. Bein happy and playin.

I don't recommend watchin your kids get anesthesia and goin under. It is very disturbing to watch. If you do have it done make sure you get in there and make it as comfortable as possible for your kid. I had to do the gas cause the anesthesia-ologist guy was a tool and was scarin the shit out of her. Remember you can say no when something isn't goin your way or it is something you don't understand. Never allow ANYONE to do something to your kid that you aren't comfortable with or don't understand. You have that right.

Anyways thats all.

She is doin good. Pretty cranky most of the time but doin good.

Joe, I've never posted in this thread just because I could never come up with something to say that actually states how much I envy your family's strength and how something so awful can happen to such a sweet young girl and great people. If there is anything I can send your way, maybe something your girl wanted for her birthday but didn't get or ANYTHING, please pm me.

Thanx for the well wishes. I dig your avatar from Princess Mononoke.

We are headin out tomorrow (Sun.) for San Fran to get Loran checked up again. She has appt's with the neurologists on Mon and another MRI on Tues. Hopefully she will check out clean and we will be that much closer to gettin the port out and on with our lives. We had to put off lettin her goto preschool this year (she is only three but ready! All potty trained and smart as a whip!) cause she can't get vaccinated and all that. She was pretty bummed out cause her sister started kindegarten and got to goto a new school and all that. Poor kid. I am happy tho that my kids think school is sumthin fun. I hope that never changes. Yeah right

SO I will post back up in this thread from the Koret Family House if I get the chance or when we get home on Wed. (that is if everything checks out).

Later.

Heartfelt wishes to you. My father died from cancer and he was 56. We thought that was way to young. Your daughter looks great though, its amazing what kids can bounce back from. I have a feeling with prayer and good thoughts she will be alright.

I know my limitations, I just don't know when to quit.

My prayers are definately with you and your family. Everytime I see those picture of your daughter in the hospital I can't help but cry. They always bring back all of the horrible images I have of my son when he was in the hospital during his short battle with cancer. It's not fair, children are so pure and innocent...why do things like this have to happen to them? They have done nothing to deserve the pain and suffering they have to endure. I know how frustrating it is to watch your child be in pain and there is nothing you can do about it. You would do anything to just be able to switch places with them so they could be well again. I know this is a hard time for you and your family but it sounds like your family is staying strong and that is all you can do. I will pray that your daughter gets a good report and that she will be good as new in no time.
