Hello Bronco People

Hi. I have read many threads here and enjoy the site very much. It is the only site I go to. I have never registered before because as soon as I find out what I need, I rush out to work on the darn thing.

Now I have a question that I don't believe has been answered in the detail that I need. So I registered, tryed to start a thread and it said I needed 30 posts first. I have read so many threads here that I feel like a regular. But it's cool. So here is post #1.

My name is Dan.
I have an '88 XLT (I think, I ripped everything off of it)
351, AT
I bought it about 13 years ago. My wife drove it for about a year or 2 and it pretty much has sat ever since. Some years ago I put a 4-sale sign for $800 and no one wanted it. Since then I
Painted it (out in the driveway in the wind)
New radiator, window motors (yes 1 in rear) alternator, water pump, thermostat, battery, K&N filter, newer seats out of Explorer, nicer rims and tires off craigslist, just finished brakes, rotors and calipers, and have probably done other stuff I don't remember. Even changed the oil once or twice.
And now the answer to the big question....yes I smogged it! I think I'm keepin' it.
When I figure out how, I'll put before and after pics. Not that it is anything special.

Thanks to all who have helped me in the past and didn't even know it.

Dan

Only true about the 80-96 & 78-79 tech forums. The Newbie Tech forum allows you to start a thread right away. Not to stop you from posting & joining in with the community, but you can get started on your issue a little sooner. Good luck.

Thanks to all. I did figure outthat I could post in the noobie forum.

and to El Kabong, I also was a fan of Quick Draw.
At 3 years old I named my dog Baba Louie.
It wasn't easy to call the dog and everyone thought I was nuts.

It is always good to see someone who gets those old references show up around here. And thanks for the tip, I won't name my dog Baba Looey. EK has been a little awkward as a screen name, since some guys have a tendancy to think it has something to do with a bong. I added the explanation in my sig after too many of those moments.

As for adding pics, there are a few different ways. Here is some info. Post up those pics when you get a chance.

4- How do I post pics?

Go to the How to POST PICS sticky. Pepe` gives 2 sets of instructions, one for fullsize membership ($20 a year), another for regular members (Free). Follow the instructions for your type of membership.

If you are a regular member, follow the Supermotors method. It's the second set of instructions. The first set of instructions won't work for you. You have to load the pics on a hosting site like Supermotors or Photobucket, then hotlink them here.

Supermotors is the method that I still use. You can set up different folders for each vehicle. They can be categorized & reorganized as needed. It allows the photos to be easily resized, & you have the choice of 3 sizes to hotlink. Once loaded to the hosting site, your friends & family across the country can see them there. You can hotlink the same photos to multiple websites as well.

You will copy the location of the pic from the hosting site. It is in the "URL" box to the left of the pic. Or you can right click on the pic itself & click on "Copy Image Location" or "Copy Image Url" (Right clicking on the pic itself will also get you to the URL of pics from many sources). Then back here in FSB, from the "Reply to Thread" window, click the Insert Image icon & paste your pic's location in the popup window. That will add the necessary code for you without any further work. This method also works with those pics found online from other sources.

Another option is to copy the "IMG" code to the left of the pic in Supermotors & paste it directly into the "Reply to Thread" window.

This is how the code for the pic below looks in the "Reply to Thread" window, except the {} are actually []:

{IMG}http://www.supermotors.net/getfile/1006394/fullsize/031.jpg%20alt={/IMG}

With the correct brackets, that ^ code looks like this in the thread:
