Yo Loki,
Hope you and any passengers weren't injured!

Our Broncos have great safety ratings vs GM/Chevvie etc similar vehicles. In 1996 we were seeking a new vehicle. We had Fords in the past, from a Galaxie 500, Escort GT, Mustang GT, Aerostar & a 78 Bronco.

We considered vans and cars but decided to stay with a 4x4. Made the car lot tour and checked out the 96 Bronco XL, a new 96 Blazer and a 96 Tahoe, but when we checked NHTSA's Safety Information we bought the Bronco XL! See Attached NHTSA SAFETY RATINGS!

And, we paid 18.4 or .7 + tax for it thanks to a $5K factory discount and intense bargaining. Dealer is a ok and threw in factory body side mouldings, floor mats, $10.00 oil/lube changes for 3 years and finally a large plushie bear for our grandchildren.

Chevvie dealers refused to chop discounts for more than $2K. They should have provided pre-paid life insurance policies!

Damn, didnt realize you hit the tree, I thought it fell on the bronco. I t-boned a grand marquis at 65 mph in my mustang. I know the feeling. Walked away with my 15th or so concussion and a sore neck, but that's all. The airbag saved my teeth, and my ass. Unfortunately, the mach1 is a pile in my driveway now.

Where is Salem in relation to KC? I'm about an hour west of KC, just north of I70
