Smile New to FSB, old Bronco Driver

Hey Everyone,

Not necessarily new to FSB or Broncos, but never really active with FSB.. till now.

I have been modding a 73 bronco for over 23 years now.. A little bit every year (in Avatar).
I have had 5 Broncos so far, all FSB, except for aforementioned.

I am about to start a major swap project and mod with my 96 XLT 5.8

Interior 80% dyed to Black, except dash (argh...) , carpet replaced (blk), 1\2 headliner in blk suede, stock seats reupholstered in Carbon fiber marine vinyl, pretty stock otherwise, except 200 amp alt, K&N Filter, Kool flow water pump, Mean Green starter, MSD ignition, and wires. Stereo is upgraded to Pioneer head unit and speakers, with more waiting... (amps\subs..) Also have 1\4 steel front and rear bumpers (need sanded, painted, and installed) HID replacement front lights still in box, Chrome brush guard and rear light cages (need to stripped an painted black)

AODE is clunking, so going out..

Sooo..... Just purchased salvage 96 Bronco with Superlift 6 suspension lift, with Superunner steering, 6'inch lift springs, 4.86 gears, TruTrac's front and rear, , M\T wheels and BFG 35's, and a recently rebuilt HD AODE. I think you see where this going...

Both are burgundy, although the salvage vehicle is a 5.0 and was hit on rear drivers side; enough to break the leaf spring clips (hopefully the TruTrac' is good?)

will post some pics hopefully later

Yo oldschoolbronco,
Welcome Home! Great to have you here with your Bronco knowledge.

As soon as possible, find out if speed control, if equipped, recall work completed by a dealership. Call local dealer or register and view status @ https://owner.ford.com; or @ https://vinrcl.safercar.gov/vin/ ... have VIN ready.
"Summary: ON CERTAIN PICKUP TRUCKS, PASSENGER VEHICLES, SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES, AND MOTOR HOMES CHASSIS, THE SPEED CONTROL DEACTIVATION SWITCH MAY, UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS, LEAK INTERNALLY AND THEN OVERHEAT, SMOKE, OR BURN. THIS COULD RESULT IN AN UNDERHOOD FIRE."
To confirm current status, use this guide by jowens1126 @ https://www.fullsizebronco.com/forum...ml#post6530073
Note that the 93 recall is different than the 94-96 recall.

BTW, 96 was built with E4OD that has 20 pan bolts:

Welcome back home!

You've done good with the mods so far, and that donor bronco is a goldmine of suspension and axle goodies.

You'll have to inspect the rear axle and diff to know if the rear tru-trac is still okay. Unless the bronco took a direct hit to the wheel, pushing the axle shaft inwards, I'd wager the tru-trac will be okay.

Vote for Full-size Of The Month in January, March, May,
July, and September!

The wheel was slightly damaged and tire punctured, (replace yesterday)
will not know if tru-trac is good till opening up...

Keeping my fingers crossed.

thx
