Intro

Howdy,
I recently purchased a 1988 Eddie Bauer Bronco for my son and I to clean up for his first ride. It'll be about a year before he gets his drivers licence. My rationale for the early purchase of his first rig is;
1. He will gain knowledge of vehicles, his vehicle first hand.
2. I hope if he is invested in the rig may not beat the tar out of it immediately. (Fingers crossed)
3. I suspect there won't be too many Broncos in the high school parking lot. His ride will have style. 👍

I look forward to accessing the knowledge of fellow members on this forum as we put the bronc back on the road.

Kevin

Welcome and that's a good plan. The one my son and I built he only got one speeding ticket in and he didn't break anything. This is a great place for info and help. Welcome

Welcome aboard, nice idea/project. My son wants no part of my bronco. '88 was my first and favorite. Good luck

Awesome! He sounds like a great kid with a great rig!

I was driving my old man's '85 Bronco when I was in high school. It had a 300 l6 a C6 with a 3 body lift and 32" Hooser mud tires. Thanks to the six banger I was at no point in any risk of receiving a speeding ticket, but me and my buddies sure had fun with it! Just last week one of my friends was reminiscing about one of our "Oh the water in the ditch can't be that deep" moments. We ended up using the cb radio in the truck (before cell phones were all the rage) to contact our only other friend with a 4x4 to pull us out. The following morning it wouldn't start, once my father took a peek under the truck and saw the mud on everything he "let me" crawl under it to swap out the starter.

We'd go out after snow storms in that Bronco and pull people out of snow banks just for the fun of it. Good times!

Thank you for all of the info miesk5! The Eddie Bauer in the '88 sales brochure is the exact rig we are working on! I'll be sure to show it to him.

It looks like a have a fair amount of reading ahead of me!
