Yo Chas,
Welcome!
You must have the 5.0 too.
See Dorman pulley $19.94 @ https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/...p+pulley,10702

The 96 5.8 was built without the pump so I believe it used a bypass pulley

Or seek a yard queen bypass pulley or one from 92-96

See my partially recovered Bronco web site. Thanks to Mr. Schwim!

Yo Chas,
Forgot to ask, was speed control, if equipped, recall work completed by a dealership. Call local dealer or register and view status @ https://owner.ford.com; or @ https://vinrcl.safercar.gov/vin/ ... have VIN ready.
"Summary: ON CERTAIN PICKUP TRUCKS, PASSENGER VEHICLES, SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES, AND MOTOR HOMES CHASSIS, THE SPEED CONTROL DEACTIVATION SWITCH MAY, UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS, LEAK INTERNALLY AND THEN OVERHEAT, SMOKE, OR BURN. THIS COULD RESULT IN AN UNDERHOOD FIRE."
To confirm current status, use this guide by jowens1126 @ https://www.fullsizebronco.com/forum...ml#post6530073
Note that the 93 recall is different than the 94-96 recall.

That pulley on Rock Auto is the one that goes on the smog pump. For 92+ trucks w/o a smog pump, you need this:

I have a 1996 5.0L with shorty headers and a Bassani Y-pipe w/ high flow catalytic converter. I do need the secondary air injection system still, correct?

...My mechanic told me to bring lots of "penetrating oil" when I get my engine replaced.

Yo SCB,
Yes, especially if the Bassani Y-pipe w/ high flow catalytic converter has an air inlet port.
Here is a 96 Bassani Y in a 96 5.0

Use High Temperature Silicone Hose ...
"Bassani made a mistake when they ordered bulk hose from Purosil (The manufacturer of the hose) and got the wrong type in. Call Bassani and ask to speak to Lesa Dodd and she will make it up for you like she did me with a new length of red high heat/high pressure hose from purosil. Don't deal with Rebecca Torres in customer service as she is the stupidest B*tch on the planet and rude to boot. Otherwise, you'll love the performance of the new Y pipe. I saw this thread before I bought it. Don't know why I didn't use common sense. I hope that in the 11 years since that post was submitted, that they fixed the issue with the tubing. Mine is holding up fine so far. Yes, the one I have (50150b3) has the high flow cat.

What I have to do now is fix my check engine lights related to not having the 3rd o2 sensor and a vacuum leak. I do, however, love the increased performance I've seen with the upgrades (exhaust and ignition). My main pursuit is MPG, and that's what I was curious about with deleting yet another accessory. I was getting about 14 right after the lift and bigger meats were put on. I'm getting about 11.5 now because I have a ton of parts taken off, but I hope to get it back up to about 17-18mpg with all of my upgrades.

Yo SCB,

I thought you are in California! So, you'll need the a secondary air 8njection if you have smog laws or CEL tests.
Start a new thread on the vacuum leak. Then I'll move your posts from here to there.
