Walker Ridge road staging area

Videos to come after the upcoming trip in a week and a half. Here's some pictures I didn't know my neighbor was taking when we got the the Walker Ridge Rd. staging area on Sunday on our way home. The hill I'm playing on is about seven feet tall with a 30 to 50 degree angle of attack. There is a trail that pops up and then out as you come to the staging area. I'll make sure to shoot that next time as you can't see the trail over your hood for most of it, until you start the descent.

Today pictures

So, I had these all ready to upload about an hour ago and a client drops a near total loss body order on me with 25 minutes to absolute order cutoff... ..some people, sheesh. I had the department of the interior send me all of the BLM maps for my region, I like paper maps. They work when the batteries are dead.

I keep my truck in a state of "bug out" readiness.

I'm not an audiophile, per se, but I am a drummer and musician, so to me music is king. I don't need you and your passengers to hear it at a stoplight or when you're watching the game inside your home when I drive by, but I do like concert quality sound; and when we're way out it's nice to have the beats go BOOM!

I always keep a pair of radios. You never know when you might need one. So, I've added a docking station to my center console extension. The cup holder things will also end up in a more permanent location, once I decide where that is.

Sorry for the "attachments" but I can't seem to find a way to get larger pictures uploaded without multiple screens and I am actually at work. It's interesting that no one has told me I can't do this while I'm being paid. I guess it's okay since I'm not exactly compensated. But, then again, which of us is?

I lived in Joseph, grew up in Enterprise. We have a cabin and 180 acres off of Hwy 3. My grandparents live at the head of Wallowa Lake and I used to set irrigation line on Alder Slope, work the lift line as a supervisor at Wallowa Lake Tramway, and as an advertising executive and on-air personality at KWVR FM 92.1. I've been telling Pepe for a while now that he should take a ride through Halfway and go check it out. What a small world. If you drive the back way from Enterprise to Joseph (passing the Nursery and Grain Growers) there's a slight rise in the road. That's where I rolled my first Bronco many many moons ago. I have sooo many memories of fishing, hiking, shooting, and gold mining down in Imnaha. That place is H E A V E N. I'm jealous. Not only do you have more votes than I do, but you have more current photos and memories of my hometown and surrounding area.

So, I had to find this picture recently uploaded to the web. That's my grandpa on the harp in the middle, and my uncle Matt (music Guru) playing the steel slide guitar on the left. My brother's and I were supposed to head out there this summer to meet with our step dad, but, our step sister has been diagnosed with a brain tumor, so... we're rescheduling 'til next summer, next year. Maybe we can meet at Terminal Gravity for a pint of golden before we go wheel the back of Mount Howard, one of my favorite places in the universe.

I uploaded these to my trip thread in West Coast Chapter, but I've gotta share 'em with my fellow competitors. These are screenshots of my custom Backcountry Navigator app map that I made by keeping my smartphone charged and GPS active while out and about last weekend.

Next up is tube work...disclaimer I have exactly zero welding or tube bending skills...
A while back I followed the bumper build of @triplesix for the tube bumpers on his truck. To my surprise he listed them in the classified section for an awesome price. I looked at them daily waffling over whether to drop the coin and have them shipped to GA from the PNW. Somehow they sat there for about a month, and I finally pulled the trigger. Still my favorite mod on this truck and his skills are amazing

Hard to see but the rear folds down as this 38 and rim are preaty heavy

Next was the transmission x member, tcase cage, and antiwrap x member

As mentioned earlier I ripped off the antiwrap bar wheeling last weekend and Matt at @CCOR was cool enough to fit me in and get it rewelded and gusseted. No pics of that yet as I just got home from picking it up and its pouring rain now. Looks much beefier though.

These two ladies got pretty jammed up in a deep rut in what looked like a competition rover. They said they were practicing recovery (I got all the practice and they had shredded their syntetic winch rope) and it was an awesome right side drive rig

Got a bunch of good, pretty much unedited video today. Our plans to hit Morris Mtn AL got derailed till next weeek so we decided to make the best of it. A good decision it turned out to be stay tuned.
