I also added some stainless side steps; but didn't like the way they mounted:

So, I went back to the shop early the next morning. I started out by scrapping the tin tubing spacers they give you for the front body mount and made some out of 3/4" black iron pipe. I chucked a piece up in the lathe and turned it down to 3", about an 1-1/2" longer than the supplied ones.

You can see that it is a much heavier wall thickness compared to theirs:

Now I was able to mount the front and brace it up to get a measurement for the rear suppoprt. This came out to be about 2 1/2" longer than the supplied brace.

I took some 1/4" plate and cut two new brackets with a cut off wheel, sorry, no pics. Holding a grinder with a cut off wheel and using a camera is a recipe for disaster and I didn't feel like taking a ride to the "new finger store"

I drilled a 9/16" hole in the end and then heated it up and bent it in the vise. It's a little beefier than the the stock one:

Once I had the step level, I marked the mounting hole and drilled it out. The step is much straighter now and a little lower which should help me and my short little legs.

When I was fourteen years old, I was amazed at how unintelligent my father was. By the time I turned twenty-one, I was astounded at how much he had learned in the last seven years

Artistic (my attempt anyway) versions of some pics...

And survived the edge of Hurricane Irma.

Got a couple spare 3Gs. I was wanting to store one in the ammo can I mounted under the hood, but it's just a little too big.

Here's the AC and serpentine systems for installation soon!

Well, I didn't get the ABS fixed, but my buddy at the boneyard hooked me up, just need to go by his house this weekend and pick it up; hopefully tomorrow.
Tonight we got a solid six hours on the bumper, but it's still not done, close, but not done; I owe this guy my life.

We took some measurements, made some cardboard templates, pulled it off and headed back to his shop.

Then we transferred the template onto the material and started bending:

Then fitted and tacked the pieces together:

Getting closer and getting late:

Back to my shop for a test fit:

(It looks wide, but the fender flares will cover a good portion )

Then trim for the wheel opening:

Looks like it will work, now back off and to his shop to cap the ends, finish welding and blend the welds, but, not tonight.

Thanks guys, it's been a lot of fun, hopefully everyone had as a good a time as I did. Best of luck to all; can't wait to see how this turns out!

It's been fun sharing Ol' Faithful with y'all and seeing all the ideas, improvements and hard work you guys have put into your rigs, each one worthy candidates for F.O.T.M. Looks like the monster plow beast of @cobrajoe will come out on top, and it will be a fine representation of our close-knit community.

I put an oval on. Not a Ford oval though. I guess a lot of people use these to brag about how far they have run, but I'm too old to run, so I went with this one.:red x Also put a NRA sticker in the window. Me with one of my favorite rifles, a Springfield Armory M1A Scout in a VLTOR stock.

Thank you for the kind words @SRWillis , but there is still plenty of time left. No matter how it turns out, it was a lot of fun completing with you guys and all though I have never followed this thread before, it seems like it was really competitive and will definitely follow them in the future.

Well I went and picked up the McGard lugs for the Weld wheel this morning so I took the liberty to polish up each one of the wheels when I took them off.

Unfortunately, that took most of the day, but they came out really nice as you can see from last nights bumper pics:

The rest of the day was spent tidying up loose end, securing lines, etc... and cleaning up the '93.

Good luck all.
