Last thing to go into the interior was the roll bar. Itís a Protofab one and fit very well.

Scuffed it up and cleaned it really well with wax and grease remover, then a coat of etching primer and then paint .. Ö I started with the bottom first:

Turned it over and did the same everywhere else:

These are latest photos. I put down all stickers and start to thinking about new color, graphic theme....

Relocated the second battery to engine bay and start to costumize front Jump seat (from Honda FR-V) :)

I have new grey fabric from Ford rear bench seat (thanks to ebay) so it will be in the same visual scheme like other front seats soon :)

Next came my roll cage. We cut 6 holes in the floor and my buddy built a roll cage with dom.

Heres the seat bars and a small slider..

Reinstalled the steps..

The cage is welded to standoffs that are welded to the frame.

Throw in some floor patches..

I eventually painted the cage black and put some foam on the upper areas.

Here is a refresher of before and after interior comparison. Now that the interior is done I have some real motivation and getting this thing done. The interior looks better than new and worked real well for the reason I started with it.

The journey on the paint and body took the longest time to complete only due to that I am no body man or painter for that matter. Although I have been in the paint and body industry for 30 years I only sold the stuff. I have painted vehicle before and also have done body work before and know what Itís supposed to look like as far as being straight it just takes me 10 times longer to get the end result.

Where it take a real body man an hour to get something straight, it took me 10 Ö I would do it and then do it again and again until it was straight. I would estimate close to a year and I worked on it every day pretty much until it was completed. I was obsessed to say the least and the old lady wasnít happy with as much time I spent in the garage but all of that has changed now that she enjoys it as much as I do.

Before and after pics of this journey :

The very long process of doing body work and paint I felt like I did enough sanding, and re-sanding to last a lifetime. That is until my wife wants to restore the truck on the side of the house. The good thing is she wants to get dirty and help with it. So that will be the next major project that is if I can slow down on the BKO.

I am no spring chicken anymore so I did the body work and paint in sections. Not only this although I had plenty of motivation being the interior was done, I wanted short goals for more motivation.

It is a lot more work doing everything in sections but this is what I decided. I started with the door jambs and door hardware:

Got the jambs masked up and primed. I used a DTM primer

Sanded the primer, then sealed and painted them:

The doors were up next but more on that later

Here are some random pics of a Meet N Greet at Bulldog Canyon (east of the valley) in May of this year

One of the things on my bucket list was to go to Moab, and became reality in March 2016

The first trail run was called Fins N Things cool little trail and the views were spectacular. Looking back at it now it wasnít a hard trail to run at all. But me with my lack of experience I didnít think I would every go up, or over such steep hills again. It scared the s%$ out of me only to discover a few days later it would be much worse.

Here are some Photos of Fins N Things :
