It was, couple end are worn out and I'm going to redo it all, one of the heims a saw the teflon coming out of so I'm changing them while I'm there.

My bronco is ready as is. Would be nice to get the t case shifter mounted though. Need to do some work to the tow rig before the trip. And finish modifying my mower first before the trucks. Always something.

I wish fullsizes could make a real "invasion". I dont know why we can't, there were literally 10x the number of fullsizes produced than EB's. Getting fullsizes to show up to an event is like pulling teeth. Never understood why but Ive been bitching about that for years.

Money talks and bullshit walks. Most people that own full sizes own beat up old POSs.

Early Bronco Owners tend to know what they got and as they have gone upscale, more money has flowed into Early Bronco focused stuff.

If I didn’t have three kids, I would be wheeling an early as well.

That said, I agree that there is a bigger group of full-size guys than what shows up.

I've read and heard of a lot of people that are scared to drive any long distance or drive over 60 mph for that matter.

We have a small bronco group on Long Island and it's a struggle to get people to drive 30 minutes for a monthly meet up.

I'd love an early Bronco but they are few and far between around here and to find anything cheap enough needs half the body rebuilt just for a solid starting platform.

There is certainly some truth to that. But, not long ago EB owners were in the same boat. You could buy EB's in the early 2000's for $2500 bucks. And fullsize Bronco's have been rising since 2008 right along side the EB market. I wouldn't have owned as many as I have had that not been the case.

Ive owned both and still prefer a fullsize. Not having a strong(er) community has been a big disappointment for me as a fullsize owner. As a result I've decided this year (and hopefully upcoming years) to travel across the country to attend as many Bronco events as possible. If I cant get anything going in my region, fuvk it....I'll travel to find it. I hoping with every fiber in my being that Ford knocks the new Bronco out of the park and there will be a "Jeep" like community behind it. It might not get the same love as the original production but IDC, I'm keeping all my fullsizes anyway. I'll just take whichever Bronco the event is designed for if not for all. I wake up thinking about Broncos and go to sleep thinking about them. "Sickness" is not a strong enough word for some of us.

Dont get me wrong, I like this community here, but trying to schedule rides/meets and have any attendees takes an act of congress. I like you guys have kept this thread updated with countdown days. This is the type of enthusiasm I'm always looking for! I'm pumped to join you guys for some Bronco fun and wheeling! 13 hour drive be damned!!!!

I wish I had some enthusiasm for the 2020 Bronco but I have this feeling I'll be let down.
There is a big Fullsize community on Facebook but I see very few that are real wheeling rigs.

It's definitely a good time and good people, trails are a little narrow though, lol.

I had it too at first but I truly believe Ford wont mess it up. I cant say for certain why I feel that way but I believe they are acutely aware of what it means to bring it back. MY cases in point:


DESIGN APPEAL:

The Thunderbird comeback. Granted, I never owned one or had the desire to but I think they nailed the look of mixing retro with new age and it seems to have a good following and their values hold pretty steady. I dont know of any major well-known issues with them. Again, I never owned one.

The 05 retro Mustang design
. I know that was influenced by other manufacturers but it was a massive success. Although I know you could argue the production of the mustang never stopped. I still think it hit the mark. I'm not a muscle car guy in the slightest but I still think it was an attractive design that
garnered the desired results.

PERFORMANCE:

F-series trucks and fullsize SUV's. Ford doesn't defame their star athletes. They put some serious coin into the R&D of this lineup b/c thats their bread & butter. Yes you can argue early modular engine issues along with the 6.4L diesel (the 6.0 diesel was not a bad engine) but you have to risk failure if you're going to be innovative. Ford is one of the leaders in innovation, most certainly in the domestic market. Ford is the only domestic manufacturer who produces their own diesel in house. Ford told Cummins & Isuzu "Nah brah, we got this!" I believe Ford knows now, if they didn't know before, just how historic and significant the idea of bringing the Bronco back is. They want a piece of the Jeep market so bad they can taste it. Its NOT going to be a crossover with the Bronco nameplate.

The Raptor.
This had to be the balls'iest move a manufacturer could make. A race inspired truck they would warranty whilst being built for the sole purpose of offroad racing & jumps?!?!? Are you kidding me? Yet, they put their engineers to work on a build that rendered a badass niche-vehicle. The more encouraging part of it was/is, they weren't chasing any other manufacturer in that segment. And it was a success! Thats a good thing b/c, (hopefully), that means since Jeep is dominating their current market, Ford will pay extra attention to what the requirements should be to compete in that segment. Combine that with the Bronco's legacy...pffftt...we're golden. They're not fuvking around on this one.

I'm dont mean a virtual community. I mean a real-life one. I recognize there simply isn't the same numbers of Bronco owners to Jeep owners ratio but I can dream.

Styling queues they might get, but will it be a wrangler killer, I don't think so but we'll have to wait and see.

Well the fullsizes are out there, just not as orginzed as some other groups. I have seen a fullsize Bronco group in Texas I belive.

Truthfully, I dont know if anything can be a wrangler-killer. The basic design of a Jeep from the factory has a narrowed front end, super high fenders, and excellent departure/ascent angles. Nothing out of the box can compete with its body design. Most people mod their offroad rigs to replicate the exact features a Jeep has stock. Not hard to understand why their so popular. If Ford tried to replicate the body design with the Bronco, they would be labeled as a Jeep look-a-like. But what Ford can compete on is performance. An Ecoboost would crush any engine in the Jeep's lineup, not to mention if Ford decides on a V8, that could certainly sway consumers. Ford's reliability IMO, is markedly better than Jeep. Ford also has to make it modular, meaning fully customizable. If it has half the options Jeep has, it'll do well. Part of that relies on the aftermarket support.

There is enough people doubting its return, thats for sure. I'm erring on the side of optimism obviously. In fact, I'm doubling down on it. My fingers are crossed.
